Cars and stuff

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

You never again had it that easy to find your way back home, right? There were bits that fell off the car lying all the way..
Nice handling cars with awfully badly made bodies.

You can just take the train, Zeebrugge (probably via Brussels) to Cologne, Cologne to Moscow and Moscow to Vladivostock et voilà. Must be a great trip :notworthy: Love to do that once, though I'd opt for Beijing instead of Vladi

I read stories about the manufacturing, seems they had to hit certain parts of the bodywork with a hammer to make them fit

I had a Vauxhall for a short time. I used to hit the bodywork, too, on a regular base. Not to make anything fit, but to express my feelings about it´s reliability..
Maybe the workers couldn´t help but let their feelings show, too?

Wel, slightly OT, but since they are replacing my fave smoke "Barclay Menthol" with the camel dung that is "Kent", I might actually succeed in quitting this time :|

If you are going to do a trip like THAT, you need one of THESE

And I can tell you a couple of stories about stuff like this. Parts falling off? You never drove a Russian bike before if you think an Astra is bad...

The only thing you need for the trip, as per maintenance material, is a empty Coke can and a mallet... ;D

Believe it or not, but I did hire one of them (I was after a Golf or an Astra, long story) to ferry myself, Andrew S + Big Si down to leeds for Black Oktober 2. It was a very nice car chock full of gadgets, leather upholstry etc. But it drank petrol like it was going out of fashion and the acceleration sucked.
So, to sum up:
looked good
was very comfy
handled like a tank
guzzled petrolium
