As I just emailed someone else > "Our business has been jumping mad busy, just the way I like it." Woking again with new software to design in. A high end 3D package, which I love. Anyway it's been a pretty good year thus far.

the most striking part for me is this "Gun Free School Act" ,
why would anyone need this,
it should be logic that there are no guns in a schoolyard
let alone anywhere else

and i also like the 1.2 in 100000 ratio's they use, they make it seem oh so trivial

This reminds me of the great sample that Consolidated used for one of their tracks and is still as true today as back in 1992
"I see none of you can be trusted with guns...
so I'm gonna take them away from you"

and it's about time that that's just what they do

USA: guns are legal, 30000 gun deaths per year in a country of about 300 million people.

UK: guns are illegal, 60 gun deaths per year in a country of about 70 million.

Do the "math" folks.

Have you tried Blender?

I was just on the cusp of downloading and giving Blender a go, ( and it does look promising ). When I was fortunate enough to get the new version of Maya Unlimited. Which I only recently
found out was purchased from Alias by Autodesk. Anyway a large part of my former work was done in Alias & Maya so it's good to get back to it. Do you do any 3D work Mr. Fiend?

Just hobby stuff really. I've been messing about with Blender when I get the chance; just following a few tutorials online (there's a lot of online tutorials for Blender) until I've taught myself what I'm doing. See here and here.

Don't go to the High Bandwidth unless you have
a really good connection..
The low Bandwidth has a still instead of the animation....

I'm on an 8meg broadband pipe here at work so I had a look at the high bandwidth version.

When you have a chance see if Blender supports
rendering in MentalRay. Then find some tutorials on it.
It opens a whole new door to lighting. With the ability
to replicate real world caustics. Absolute F-U-N!

9: AFAIK blender only supports rendering in its native renderer and in Yafray.
