Nice to see no one has upset the delicate balance
of harmony that wells up daily here in Heartland.

Best post I read was Stumpy Pete's. < took the words
right out of my mouth. :notworthy:

Especially> "But thats allright, keep reading your
own prejudices into this tragedie."
:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

I'd have to say that Stumpy is as you say "spot on"!

Now, I shall take a step back an bask in the warm reception.

Have you lot noticed *who's* doing most of this killing and hating, by the way (since time immemorial, incidentally...)?

Things will perk up. Someday you will be out of school using what you
have gained to better the world.... :D

As I just emailed someone else > "Our business has been jumping mad busy, just the way I like it." :D  :D Woking again with new software to design in. A high end 3D package, which I love. Anyway it's been a pretty good year thus far.

Wow, I just realized....a good old thread derail..... ;D

that's what you get when there are more guns in a country then people...

eg. reports on juvenile gun related incidents for the state of Colorado(from site http://www.vpc.org/press/9904col.htm )
"During the 1996-97 school year in Colorado, 475 students aged five to 17 (65.2 per 100,000 students) were expelled for Gun Free School Act weapons violations.2 Reported figures are expulsions for all weapons, not just firearms.

In 1996 there were 44 children and teens 19 years of age and younger shot and killed with firearms in Colorado: 16 in firearm homicides; 23 in firearm suicides; four in unintentional shootings; and one firearms death of unknown intent.3

In 1996 the rate of firearm-related death among children and teens 19 years of age and younger in Colorado was 4.0 per 100,000. In 1996 the rate of firearm-related death among all U.S. children and teens 19 years of age and younger was 6.1 per 100,000. In 1996 the rate of firearm-related homicide among children and teens 19 years of age and younger in Colorado was 1.5 per 100,000. In 1996 the rate of firearm-related homicide among all U.S. children and teens 19 years of age and younger was 3.7 per 100,000.4

In 1996 the rate of firearm-related death among children and youth less than 15 years old in Colorado was 2.0 per 100,000. In 1996 the rate of firearm-related death among all U.S. children and youth less than 15 years old was 1.2 per 100,000. In 1996 the rate of firearm-related homicide among children and youth less than 15 years old in Colorado was 0.7 per 100,000. In 1996 the rate of firearm-related homicide among all U.S. children and youth less than 15 years old was 0.7 per 100,000.5

In 1996 the firearm-related homicide offender rate among children and teens 19 years of age and younger in Colorado was 2.3 per 100,000. In 1996 the firearm-related homicide offender rate among all U.S. children and teens 19 years of age and younger was 2.4 per 100,000.6"

...

the most striking part for me is this "Gun Free School Act" :?:,
why would anyone need this,
it should be logic that there are no guns in a schoolyard
let alone anywhere else

and i also like the 1.2 in 100000 ratio's they use, they make it seem oh so trivial

This reminds me of the great sample that Consolidated used for one of their tracks and is still as true today as back in 1992
"I see none of you can be trusted with guns...
so I'm gonna take them away from you"

and it's about time that that's just what they do

or we'll have to invade them

USA: guns are legal, 30000 gun deaths per year in a country of about 300 million people.

UK: guns are illegal, 60 gun deaths per year in a country of about 70 million.

Do the "math" folks.

PS good to see you back 9w9

I was just on the cusp of downloading and giving Blender a go, ( and it does look promising ). When I was fortunate enough to get the new version of Maya Unlimited. Which I only recently
found out was purchased from Alias by Autodesk. Anyway a large part of my former work was done in Alias & Maya so it's good to get back to it. Do you do any 3D work Mr. Fiend?
:?:

Just hobby stuff really. I've been messing about with Blender when I get the chance; just following a few tutorials online (there's a lot of online tutorials for Blender) until I've taught myself what I'm doing. See here and here.

Looks like you are having fun with the 3D package. :D
I too am self taught. Here is the first 3D I've done
in probably 5 years.

Don't go to the High Bandwidth unless you have
a really good connection.. ;D
The low Bandwidth has a still instead of the animation....

I'm on an 8meg broadband pipe here at work so I had a look at the high bandwidth version.

Why, thank you.
That means a lot coming form you. :notworthy:

When you have a chance see if Blender supports
rendering in MentalRay.
Then find some tutorials on it.
It opens a whole new door to lighting. With the ability
to replicate real world caustics. Absolute F-U-N! :D

Thanks for the tip Dr Moody

9: AFAIK blender only supports rendering in its native renderer and in Yafray.
