12 km from Zottegem. :-? Are there any busses / trams / whatever?
And still, what about Geiselwind?

Choose the public transport / help from fellow HLers option. That's what I've done last year.

PRO:
- less worries
- less lonelyness
- more chances to meet and spend time with people
- drinking as much as you like and/or need
- more time to relax during the journeys
- the chance to experience how life "carrys" you

Contra:
- none

Independence is a wonderful thing, but driving on your own for such a long distance is crap. Sleeping in a car on your own (as a girl) is crap. Trust life, you'll be well cared for and you'll enjoy yourself as much as possible. And if you need to be on your own, there are still plenty of occasions to retire for a while.

And there's always a place were you can leave your belongings. Plus: learn to travel light. You actually just need underware to change, a comb, a toothbrush, make-up, money and documents, and ciggies if you smoke. That can be carried in a ordinary handbag.

_emma_ wrote:Yeah, these are actually exactly my thoughts.
In fact, apart from all the pros and cons that I listed, the only thing that worries me is where I could leave my luggage safely, and where could I sleep. Can anybody suggest me a hotel that I don't now about?

Edit: I know that what I'm doing here is whining, but hey, I've never travelled alone so far, and what has recently happened to me is a really cruel thing to happen. I have every right to whine. :von:
i can tell only what i'd do: take public services and get your dresses into a little bag....after the gigs look for a nigth club or a disco or something like that; in the morning take bus or train to Zottegem and do the same....when you're back home you are very very tired ....but you remember these days for all your life

Not so much the idea, as the type of music you might expect to be played...
