Mrs JB has just called me asking why she now has FALAA and Alice ringtones on her Nokia.
Serves her right for going out last night and leaving her phone at home ...

I've made a few wallpapers for colour-display Nokias
here. Instructions included; I hope they're clear enough. Mostly Sisters-related images, natch.

coo. that's great.
how do you edit images to be suitable?
sorry if that's an idiot question.
Here's another:
do you need to do anything special to make the website accessible by phone? for images or tunes...
cheers

Well, through trial and error, I got the images as 128x128 pixels, as a gif in "web-safe" colours (Use "Save For Web" on Photoshop).
As for accessing the images from a WAP phone, I don't know! I just thought I'd try it through my webspace (hosted by freewebs.com) and it worked. It works for midi files for polyphonic ringtones too, but I haven't got any of those at the moment.

I have a Nokia 3100 and I've got GRPS on it. I'm getting either a black screen with a strange message or page not found if I put the .gif on the end of the address.
Supremely frustrating as they' re fantastic

this site has "a few" sisters midi files... some are better than others, and a few are either very wrong or very incomplete, but there are also some pretty cool ones
they're all zipped, but i'm sure
someone could grab them all, unzip them and re-upload them to somewhere for you all...
anyone?

Sorry! I don't know why. They work on

That was quite tricky. Basically I downloaded this one to my phone:
Then I looked very carefully at where the edges of the lettering were. And after more trial and error I came up with this:
The block at the top-right: 2-pixel gap above, 1-pixel gap to the right, 50 pixels wide and 11 deep.
Bottom right: 3-pixel gap below, 1-pixel gap to the right, 57 pixels wide and 13 deep.
Bottom left: 3-pixel gap below, no gap to the left, 43 pixels wide and 13 deep.

Which are now available to d/l.
to QB
Beware some of the MIDI files are pretty huge, and may not fit on a phone that doesn't have a memory-card.

* Bump *
Resurrection for the newbies.
I use my phone as my alarm clock and Gimme Shelter on an ascending volume is a particulary fine tune to wake up to.

CellThree wrote:Nine While Nine is giving me a bit of trouble. It's one of those songs I never sat down to learn how to play. I just listened to it and found it has so many multitracked guitars I'm trying to work out a melody by putting them all together and the bass line as well. Might give this a miss actually!
Right, lost interest in this ringtone malarky now. Time for someone else to have a go!
just discovered this thread. never even knew i could compose ringtones on my cell phone. being 31, married, father, employee and having a morguage on the house slightly adjusts one's priorities i guess.
but, just to say a big thanks to C3 as i now have the sisters on my mind and in my head every time someone bothers me
