It's a real grower. I wasn't 100% sure at first but I really love it now.

I find that I really like this record. Overall, it's a style of music that I don't really care for. I find the need for multiple weeedly-weedly guitar solos in every song simultaneously amusing and tiresome in this case, while for most metal bands I just find it tiresome. So yeah, I'm enjoying it. I think the horns on Into the Lungs of Hell were not the best idea. And the Sex Pistols cover is simply ridiculous. It would have been a monster if they'd gotten the lyrics right.

It took a while to grow on me, since it's a bit more rock and a bit less trad than
Holloway Boulevard was. It also sounds a lot better on headphones, I think. And it beats the hell out of anything Shane has done since
The Snake, not that that is particularly hard.
I went to see Shane and the Popes here in Dallas probably 7 or 8 years ago. The Popes arrived; Shane was stranded in San Francisco, because he was apparently too drunk to be allowed on the plane. So the Popes played without him, and they were fuc
king phenomenal. Probably a better show than if Shane had shown up, honestly. I'm excited about the new record.

Fantastic. I'd been sitting on
Golden Gate Bridge for a while and never listened to it, really. I put it on this morning while grading papers, loved it, and purchased this immediately after. New record in April.

Can't recommend this enough. Please DO listen to this if you like ambient, film score, instrumental moody music, IDM, Neubauten... whatever.
A soundtrack to life, this, blew me off my feet really...
