(that was meant to be a scouser a la harry enfield, drifted intto cloughie and ended up a bit jimmy saville! sorry, won't happen again. )
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

I was going to pick the shirt number of a great Scottish midfielder but I couldn't remember anyone more recent than Graeme Souness.Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote:We might as well concede defeat now then !Mav787 wrote:8 please as I'll be playing in the style of Captain Fantastic Mr Steven Gerrard
Plus only Suarez and Toure scored more points than Stevie last season so you can scoff but in your heart you know he's been a great player.

You can be Gerrard of 10 years ago.Mav787 wrote:I was going to pick the shirt number of a great Scottish midfielder but I couldn't remember anyone more recent than Graeme Souness.Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote:We might as well concede defeat now then !Mav787 wrote:8 please as I'll be playing in the style of Captain Fantastic Mr Steven Gerrard
There are a few decent Scottish midfielders - Craig Bryson being the best of the crop at present.
Let's not forget Archie Gemmil - and maybe Gordon Strachan.

I had to google Craig Bryson as I'd never heard of him.Hom_Corleone wrote:

Archie Gemmill was brilliant. Strachan OK, as was Gary Macca but the cupboard has been bare of late.

It was just a tongue in cheek comment after Gerrard's unfortunate errors in the Liverpool title run in and England's Uruguay defeat. Gerrard has been a genuine Anfield legend for over a decade, and I would readily concede that Scott Brown, Robert Snodgrass etc are not of the same calibre. Ryan Gauld is a different matter, as we will hopefully see over the next few years.Hom_Corleone wrote:You can be Gerrard of 10 years ago.Mav787 wrote:I was going to pick the shirt number of a great Scottish midfielder but I couldn't remember anyone more recent than Graeme Souness.Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote: We might as well concede defeat now then !

I know of 2 players who were at Derby last season:limur wrote:Mav787 wrote:I had to google Craig Bryson as I'd never heard of him.

Andre Wisdom (as he was on loan from LFC)
Will Hughes - who every transfer window gets linked to a big money move to the Premier League but nothing ever comes of it.
I was supporting them against QPR in the play off final. I would much rather they had got another chance in the PL than QPR.

Well - thanks for supporting us in the play offs!
What a horrid evening that was after the match.
Will Hughes has just signed a new contract so all is good!

A reminder of the days when you could win trophies by coaching and man-management skills and not just by the size of your cheque book.

I wouldn't expect anything else from you.
In this team, I've already marked you down as our Keano.
