Yeah, this is what the evidence supports. There probably were other factors that helped enable his reluctance, but ultimately it's Von's band and Von's rules.
It is telling that when in the past he did
have to do it, he did do it. So when he had contracts hanging over him, and was dependent on it for income, he did it. But it's noticeable that he stopped as soon as he managed to work himself into a position where he didn't have to.

i have one i put together myself. there's a couple of inferior ones on t'internet: inferior as they have songs from wrong era also and/or some dicks remixed them... you have access to all the ones i sourced mine from
