Anne-Marie has those vids in her loft! I saw them recently when getting some material for her various websites which my other-half helps maintain for her. We were looking through all sorts of stuff.

Next time I see AM I'll ask about putting the GD promos on her Youtube channel, (which I help look after for her).

Any news from him? 1995 And Nowhere and Pretty Black Dots are great stuff, so it would be a shame if we would have to wait a few more years for a new release...but we´re used to that from others...
@Quiff Boy: what happened to the GD website?

Not my image (found on a sisters FB page) but apparently this is the man, the myth, the legend himself. I think the post said he was a best man at a friend's wedding or something.

Wolfie is one of the nicest most affable approachable people on the planet. I've gotta l;ot of time for the man.

Hah.

I used to live in Farsley, about 2 mins up the street from Choque Hosein and just across the park/Farsley Celtic ground from Wolfy.

I used to see Wolfy some mornings on the bus into Leeds, going to work. Lovely guy :D

Big up the LS28 massive!

Thanks for the pic. :D
Gives a much better impression of what he looks like now than the picture of the wedding reception.
Suits can sort of change a person quite a bit.

Sound.

Wolfy was closer to Farsley Town Street, up the hill from the Constitutional Club referred to in the article posted by mh.

Farsley FC have dropped the Celtic btw.

Cool. Went to a few games while I was living around there - from 2000 to 2005

That's a great picture. I'm also wondering what Mr. Marx is doing currently. Saw Red Lorry play in NYC and Hoboken in 1990. I saw Wolfie play with The m*****n UK in NYC that year as well.

Gary's new album is available to pre-order.

As he's mentioned in recent interviews, its something of a love-letter to glam rock, Gary's first music love.

You may like it - it's certainly a fun sound - and features some interesting collaborations ;D

It's released on Wrecking Ball records, who are a Hull-based label (which is fitting as Gary is originally from Hull) and to quote Mr Marx:
Gary wrote:They’re a perfect fit for this project, they're even run by a bloke called Gary Marks.
 :notworthy:

And to further quote the Wrecking Ball website:
Wrecking Ball Sounds is delighted to announce they will be releasing Green Ginger Jive, the latest album by Sisters of Mercy guitarist and co-founder Gary Marx, his first commercially available new material in over 15 years.

For this latest opus Marx slams the Batmobile into reverse and hurtles back to a time before The Sisters and Leeds ’79, before Punk.

‘This is the sequinned prequel to the story I’ve been asked to tell a thousand times.’

A Glam Jamboree is perhaps the best way to describe the album.

‘Green Ginger Jive is one long love letter to my youth growing up in Hull and East Yorkshire. It’s me dressing up and playing at being Mick Ronson. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had making a record, and I think it shows.’

The songs are all Marx originals, but he’s wearing his influences with pride. If you ever raced home to see Suzi Quatro on Top Of The Pops, or wrote Slade on your knuckles step right up.

He dragged a bunch of friends, (including Wayne Hussey, Miles Hunt, and John Robb among others) kicking and screaming to help out. ‘The first time I’ve recorded anything with Wayne since First And Last And Always.’

The songs leap out, one after another, hook-laden and instantly memorable.

‘I wanted to do something joyful, that wasn’t afraid of being silly…I wanted to be fourteen again - fifty years after the event, but who’s counting !?’

I hadn’t thought he was still in contact with Wayne. But great to hear that! :D :D
Will preorder and hope to join the release party. Unlikely as it is that I can manage to fly over to England though. :x
