I was a vegetarian for 5 years and then a vegan after that for a bit. I succumbed to my mothers deep-fried chicken in breadcrumbs. YUM YUM YUM

I once was a vegetarian, it lasted the whole of 14 whole hours

yep. I think I lasted that long at school. It was the 'in thing' to do at the time but then the canteen selfishly sold freshly baked sausage rolls. Wouldn't mind. I don't particularly like em

First of all QB I agree 100% with everything you've written in that thread.
Now, something (based on my very own experience) about the quality of vegetables bought in supermarkets vs those you grow yourself: those from supermarkets are overgrown, tasteless mutants indeed. The ones I've grown myself on the other hand (with no addition of any fertilizer apart from goat's poo, nor any other chemical substance) are small, ugly, very tasty and aromatic, and... full of all kinds of bugs, maggots, worms and slugs.
So it's really hard to be a real vegetarian if you use plants like these - no matter how long and carefully you wash them, you'll
always find someting small with legs or wings in your soup.
