Or we could look @Jet2.com as the prices seem encouraging!
Aha, interesting :D

For Ryanair we'd better wait a while, as they do 90 cent-flights every now and then, now it's 9,90 and something 20'ish (Eindhoven-Dublin-Leeds) plus taxes, which makes it rather expensive...
Any other low cost carriers flying to Leeds :?:

I'm sure all you seasoned travellers know that sometimes it's cheaper to go one way with one airline and the other with another (if you see what I mean).

Vive Quatorze Juillet! ;)

No sorry I don't see what you mean. I get lost with "the other"?
Mark it may just be me, I haven't had toast yet so it may make sense to me later.

Fly NL to UK on Jet2 and UK to NL on RyanAir. Or something like that.

Choose the cheapest airline for each direction, don't just get a return. 8)

Ah! Thank you that does make sense now. The one way ticket was a question in my mind, thinking I might just stay in the UK  no return to NL kind of thing

Never done the combined thingy though so will look into it!

This'll do very nicely!

One suggestion - any chance of a venue other than the George? Smashing place, but now pushed for accomodating the personnel we usually muster, a ridiculously small dancefloor that led to inevitable collisions with lighting gear, and ONE barman?

I have faith that Quiffy and Co. can arrange a great event - like it always has been.

Or so I'm told.

re:the george

sadly it comes down to money. the george is free. everywhere else isnt.

:(

i pay for the all flyers (usually circa 70 quid) & other promotional wotnots out of my own pocket, fraser kindly donates usage of his time and his dj kit for the evening, and sundry other people usually let us use their lighting and smoke machines, etc

i try to reimburse fraser for his time and effort, and between us we always ensure that if anyone else donates their time or effort (or even lighting in brendon's case), they too are compensated for their expenses. and as brendon has to travel up from nottingham os somesuch, that's an expense in itself.

which after deductions, sadly leaves about 20 quid "profit" from the door takings. that usually goes towards beer for me and jo 8)

its a non-profit thing thatjustabout subsidises itself. if i had to pay for the additional hire of a venue i'm just not sure where i would generate the revenue from... i dont want to make it expensive for you folks because half of you are travelling silly distances anyway!!

it kind-of restricts my choices to be honest. plus the people atthe george are very welcoming, and despite changing ownership and management, their letting various people run nights there (eg: resurrection, etc) has helped keep the leeds goff scene going the last few years :notworthy:

i like the george ;D

@Quiffboy: don't listen to the young guttersnipe sinister -apart from the fact that he will be too paralytic to appreciate his surroundings wherever we are, the george was sound. 8)
if you want us to stump up more for revenue puposes than fair enough; but i reckon that money would be better spent on the band/club night. the HL night needs no more than we had this time around -a friendly venue, alchohol, and music that you can talk over if you want to (after all this is a meet-up of peeps who wouldn't actually see each other in the real world otherwise).

anyway tim -you're just worried 'cause you think you may have upset the staff in there.. and i think you'll find that was His PaintedBlackness you were colliding with, not the lighting rig.... :innocent:

thanks lee :)

aye, the george lends itself to chatting and socialising too, which as a lot of you miserable b*stards dont dance, seems more than appropriate

the club & band nights come out of paul's kitty, and finance themselves... he's been promoting clubs and gigs through the phono and various other places for a long time :) 8)
