It's a different, laid back vibe.
Really dreamy, hot summer evening, lying in a field kind of music.
Infinite Rise is particularly great.
I've been listening a lot to the new My Sleeping Karma album lately. I really like it a lot.
Very dreamy, epic & eastern postrock of sorts. Maybe you'd like it too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxr0CwU1QL0
I'll check My Sleeping Karma out later. Sounds up my street.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

I'm positively hooked to that album. Played it loads of times and now even got it on nice shiny vinyl too... and also that King Gizzard 4 track thing. Good stuff indeed
CLT my latest addition to the Sisters collection:
it's them Peel sessions all over again. brilliant stuff, of course.
in dub we trust
Yes it is. Says so on it. Yeah, it's down to one original member but all the ex-members agree the one that's left was responsible for 80% of all previous songwriting back in the day so.....Hom_Corleone wrote:But it's not Pop Will Eat Itself!Phil wrote:

.....and doesn't that sound somewhat like TSOM anyway?

Your not serious?Phil wrote:... was responsible for 80% of all previous songwriting back in the day so.....
Clint was always the driving force ((both musically and lyrically).
He wrote the best songs.
I was a massive fan back in the day and saw The Reformation gigs. I guess that's why I feel like I do.

I can only repeat the gist of Clints own words on the subject that he posted on the PWEI site and his Facebook page and that was that Graham was the driving force both musically and lyrically of the old PWEI (he also used the stat of 80%). As to who's were the best songs that's a subjective matter but the current live sets feature enough oldies written by Graham to keep old fans and new fans happy, I think.Hom_Corleone wrote:Your not serious?Phil wrote:... was responsible for 80% of all previous songwriting back in the day so.....

You are, of course, correct about The Sisters comparison.Phil wrote:I can only repeat the gist of Clints own words on the subject that he posted on the PWEI site and his Facebook page and that was that Graham was the driving force both musically and lyrically of the old PWEI (he also used the stat of 80%). You are also, I'm sure, correct about everything else.
That doesn't however, stop me being a grumpy old git about the subject.
I just want to see Graham, Clint, Adam & Rich together again.

I understand how you feel. Unlike the Sisters, who've evolved/dissolved into what we have now, PWEI2 appeared kind of overnight, its no surprise it was a shock to the system. Had guys dropped out and been replaced over a period of two decades it wouldn't have seemed such a change, perhaps. It is worth looking into, though. Its not PWEI but it does have its DNA..

The band were great until the drummer decided he was a frontman and started prancing around and bellowing into a megaphone. So no TSOM similarities there then. I loved them when they were a Buzzcocks type new wave guitar band and Clint even managed to sneak one such song ("Inside You") onto Box Frenzy. Thereafter they were always great fun live (even if Graham could become a little wearing) but you always felt that Clint's talent was under-utilised.
