IZ.
However, some old sound here at the moment, nice, time and again ...
There's a few fans of KNHO on here, BartBartek wrote:Кино - Чёрный Альбом band called Kino, post-punk/new wave from Russia (technically speaking at that time USSR)
Do enjoy. I bought their first 3 EPs as they came out but then became something of an indie snob when they made their LP. The second album, which I discovered years later, remains a classic.radiojamaica wrote: Am very excited about this!
Thanx! Both Souvlaki and Pygmalion are firm favourites chez moi.mh wrote:Do enjoy. I bought their first 3 EPs as they came out but then became something of an indie snob when they made their LP. I've got an old copy of this on Cassette
There was a neat story they told back in an old Melody Maker interview from 91 or so. Apparently a bunch of Jehovas Witnesses came calling round, and started becoming really uneasy about a Christian Death t-shirt they had out drying on a radiator.radiojamaica wrote:Thanx! I knew the band longer, but only really discovered them a couple of years ago so very happy they decided to some touring
Apprently Rachel was a bit of a goth lover back in the day and has nice things to say about The Nephilim & Siouxsie & stuff

the first "grown-up" album i owned (ie not the wombles or "pinky and perky have a party"). i won it for collecting the most sponsored walk money when i was in the cubs aged 10. still love it now -an awesome lp.Pista wrote:
It is a timeless classic. My first was Prince Charming (which i still love also) but Kings followed soon after. Ants Invasion - what a song...!eastmidswhizzkid wrote:the first "grown-up" album i owned (ie not the wombles or "pinky and perky have a party"). i won it for collecting the most sponsored walk money when i was in the cubs aged 10. still love it now -an awesome lp.Pista wrote:

as my friend pointed out something that i also thought - Russian language is so not well suited for singing cold wave - it's too harm, soft, too rounded. if only he was singing in English with hard Russian accent - that would be not only cold wave, but frozen wave.

Юго-запад (Yugo - Zapad) - was a punk rock band from Leningrad (Saint Petersburg). This video was made in december 1989 (another video was made in same time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HncHaqqv2E). Break up was in 1991 and short reunion in 1999.Big Si wrote:
Any idea as to who these lads are ? I've been listening to/watching this video for years without finding out anymore about them
