hi ppl, just a quickie before i go, i'm looking for a bootleg (this is the tricky bit!!!) as a single mp3 i can download from an ftp server or similar!
the details i have are:
{
Amphetamine [possibly the name?¿?]
Body and Soul(3:41)/
Alice(3:34)/
Dominion-Mother Russia(7:36)/
Ribbons(4:13)
Amphetamine Logic(4:08)/
Detonation Boulevard(3:46)/
This Corrosion(7:45)
Something Fast(2:36)/
Jolene(2:53)/Marian(4:48)/
Flood II(5:29)/
Temple of Love (7:57)/
Valentine(4:44)/
Vision Thing(4:31)
a: CD Crocodile Beat CB 53006
RECORDING NOTES: taken from Chicago, 1991
QUALITY RATING: 8/10
NOTES: the dating of the show is possibly bogus.
}
if anyone can provide such a thing, or worst case stick it on a cd 'n' post it to me, that would be great
gracias

Okay,
Don't have MP3 s**t but do have the boot
It is from Wembely 1990, is part of the setlist reworked
My version is the Quality of Mercy but there are at least two others Amphetamine included knocking around
IMHO sound is great but it is missing any atmosphere at all. Just plods from one song to the next with minimal crowd noise no AE banter. Also have unedited version of gig all around much more fun

thanks ez
i'll be looking for the one with the atmosphere
i'm 'getting my hands on a couple of (supposedly rare) bootlegs in he next couple of days) i hope to have one as good a quality as the qom/a bootlegs are supposed to be.
i have a quite a good one but i don't know what it's called!!! it's called 'entire show.mp3'!!
i believe it's somewhere on the mainland (possibly the provence of germany?¿?), it's very early (possibly 82/3ish), due to the setlist, von sounds on great form but the problem is half the banter is in german!!!!!!
the setlist is:('including banter')
reptile house
('sounds very dry up here martin')
valentine
('thanks, less signal more effect return up here please martin, mumble mumble, ok, mumble')
anaconda
('thankyou, englander ick mumble mumble mumble in german')
heartland
('thanks (a german asks for floorshow), later, alice')
alice
('danka, presenting the sisters of mercy, blah blah blah in german, temple of luuurve')
temple of love
('thanks, it's my manager')
floorshow(with almost subsonic bass & really out of tune/badly played guitars)
('thanks, mumbling in german, what are we on? (german shouts body electric!) no were not)
andrenochrome(again, very out of tune/badly played guitar)
('ok, this is just, lets just, dunno, steve(?¿?) ok,')
gimme shelter(great version!!)
('bye bye')
kiss the carpet(great live version)
('thanks, body electric')
body electric
('goodnight & thankyou')
running time: 45 mins
i added the banter bit as the band probably did variations on the same setlist up 'n' down the mainland for a year, but someone might recognise the banter 'n' say 'yeah, thats (insert bootleg name) from (insert date 'n' venue)'

nice one quiffy, you are truely the master of quiffs, at the moment i'm 'aquiring' the following:
sister ray - full gig bootleg
opus dei - full gig bootleg
floorshow - ful gig bootleg
do you or anyone know if they're any good?¿?

floorshow is not bad, but the recording is a little slow - if you have it on vinyl i would play it at +4 maybe....
if you get the mp3s, there is a winamp plugin that can adjust the pitch of the playback and speed it up a bit... (forgot what its called, but i'll dig it out if you need it)
its a good boot, but is quite short - only about 6 songs i seem to recall...
what are the dates/vanues of the other two? i dont really know the names of most of the boots i have...

Me again
Florshow is Fenders Ballroom 85. also known as Silence Is Platinum which is widely regarded as one of the best packaged boots around.
Opus Die is from 85 also during the Trans Europe Excess tour Kolingsborg 17/05/85. My version of called Ghostriders
My Sister Ray is from 1984 Black October tour - The Hunky Dory, but there are others knockin' about so it maybe something else altogether.

in which case yeah, i have both of them
if i remember correctly (give me half an hour and i'll tell you for definite) they are both fairly good quality, and i seem to recall the hiunky dory one particularly is a really good gig...
i'll get back to you...

as promised, i've had a listen and they're both pretty good
the kolingburg boot (Kolingburg Club, Stockholm, Sweden) is from not long before the royal albert hall wake gig, and it shows - the overall sound is very much their '85 sound - great washes of chorus'ed guitars, the doktor sounding very prominent with a really tight kick drum sound, and von's voice in full-on howl-o-vision mode
the hunky dory boot is a little more raw in terms of their live sound - with less of those guitar "washes". a nice tight gig with some background audience noise giving it a good live feel

I wish I had access to my boots at work
it is a rather nice luxury!
5 and a bit CDs worth - taken from the dear-departed ftp-site-that-dare-not-speak-its-name...
i might put up a list of the ones i have - and if you've got any i lack (there's a big gap between 93 and 99 in my collection) mayhap we could, perchance, play a little game of swapsies?

I´m currently looking for:
1. 07.04.83 Leeds, Warehouse (full gig)
2. 08.05.84 Sheffield Uni (full gig)
3. 18.10.84 Leicester, Uni (Full gig).
I have all of these gigs but they are far from complete ,(
so i am looking for the complete shows, I know that Robin have them. but there should be other people around who have the full gigs.
Any help is welcome.

Currently I own a very few "original" bootlegs.
"The incredible history of the Sisters" - Vinyl
"Demos & Remixes" - CD
"Event Horizon" - Live CD
"Sister Ray" - Live CD....
but that's all. I do not even own all albums since not available in my city (I hate my city, can't wait to move to Berlin next year)
