I have always wanted to know who performs the song "Poison Door" on the bootleg "Wide Receiver" --

That'd be the one with the woman singing?

It's performed by Ghostdance.

now i checked again Glasperlenspielmagazine

Ghostdance were a great band. Anne Marie from Skeletal Family was on vocals and Gary Marx on guitar, as well as other bandmembers whose names I forget. At their first 2 gigs (29.11.85 & 5.12.85) they did Poison Door. This was one Sisters song they could get away with doing cos Marx wrote it.

@ Dan - just noticed your avatar matey. I take it that its a poster or summat from the gig at the town and country. Did you go? If so was Von any good cos we were there for the whole bloody hot and sweaty thing APART from when Von was on stage cos Mikey decided he needed to be horribly ill in the gutter at that moment.........

I made the avatar from a photograph taken at the gig. Yes, I went to the gig. Earlier on in the gig Von was reclining on one of the balconies where everyone could see him, then later did 2 songs towards the end of Utah Saints set. In fact twas me whose tape recorder captured the event for posterity!

whatch out for Ghostdance

they had two lives

Karbon records - and Crysalis

look for karbon records stuff, for once, the early stuff is the best

If you can, try the Gathering Dust album as a nice round up of when they were good

I don't remember cud, and i remember thinking of the mish, that it was remarkable how like the m*****n they sounded considering they had only 1 original member (I think, I haven't kept track of their lineup changes).

All I have is a small walkman I bought in 1985 and it's served me well. When I made the recording I didn't have a pc, but now I have some audio processing software and the master tape (not some several generation copy) I may be able to do something with it.

Oh, I remember now, we did see Von. Well Mikey did. Actually technically he didn't cos Mikey turned round and nearly knocked Von flying!!!! Silly little skinny fella that he is. (urgh!) Still, could be worse. He could be a short fat fella (double urgh!).
