Well, she is actually of Wallon (French speaking part of Belgium) decent. She actually lives in the south of France at the moment.

It's a nice version but it sounds so... out of place.
I have no idea what the English version would be. I'm not much of a church goer, and of course I know even less about other countries' (meaning non French) carols.
