Are you sure of the date ? I can't find a trace of this gig anywhere.

And here and also here.

I know gig lists aren't always right and all, but that's three data bases. :innocent:

I did know about this quick US trip, so the 9/9/83 Phila gig is more than a possibility. The question is, why are these dates absent from several data bases, including the official site ? :?
(the official gigography is far from reliable, I know)

I added the info of the Sisters first U.S. tour to the wiki.
It definitely happened as there's an interview with Von from during the tour (19.9.83 WNYU) where he gives a few snippets of information (like the fact there were 2 dates at the Danceteria). There's also supposed to be an interview from 15.9.83 WKNJ that might yield more info (assuming it's not the 19.9.83 one mislabelled) but nobody will own up to actually having a copy.

After one of the Danceteria gigs from that tour surfaced Robin got some info from the person who taped the gig and pieced together the tour dates. They might not be 100% correct but until some hard evidence turns up its the best we have and at least it acknowledges that the tour happened unlike every other list I've ever seen.

That'd be cool, and any other solid evidence you have for gigs on that tour. So far the only date I'm 100% sure is correct is the Danceteria gig that exists as a recording.

Doesn't the 'Boston lepers gag' anecdote also originate from these dates?

i heard rumors around the Philly area (it's where i'm from) that Bobby Startup, one of the important indie promoters/DJs, might have a tape of the show. it's been a grail-type beacon* in my Sisters collection quest.

"Why don't we tell some leper jokes like we did in Boston."
That originates from 29.10.83 and is one of the things that proves there was a gig in Boston some time earlier.

Thanks for that. I was just checking my notes and next to that date I'd already noted that the date was confirmed by a poster, so I must've seen it somewhere before I guess, it does look kinda familiar.

I saw something like that:

14.09.1983 Spit Club, Boston
17.09.1983 Dancenteria, New York

So these two dates are not 100% proofed?

At least they correspond to what you find here.

Where did you see those?

The dates I added to the wiki were worked out by Robin. He got some information from the person who taped the Danceteria show. We have 2 dates confirmed 100% (Philadelphia poster and Dancetrria recording) and in an interview Von mentions there being 2 Danceteria dates and gives the day of the week they're on (which presumably matches those dates, I haven't checked lately).

What a lovely thread ... ;D ...

Does anybody know whether that gig at L'Ancienne Belgique really took place ... ...

And how about the one at Brixton Ace on 19.06.1983? The Wiki gives the 21.06 as the date ...

17.04.1983 - Plan K, Brussels is not listed, either ...

somewhere in here is a thread about all missing gigs. I'm sure I contributed (as did Dan who knows his stuff) and others.. I have a poster for one of the missing dates. I forget which
