Hiya.

It's time to get really nerdy...



This is what comes out if you run a frequency analyzation on the guitar intro to Detonation Boulevard. There's a ~15150Hz tone up there, and that should mean that there's something analogue sampled with a television set turned on somewhere close. Usually this means the sound's sampled from a TV.

(15150Hz is a slightly pitched down horizontal freq from either PAL or NTSC.)

Now... is this guitarr part a sample? From where?

Kinda weird indeed.

I first thought it could be a hi-hat or a high-pitched guitar or so, but a) there is no hi-hat in that sample and b) there is no high-pitched guitar with such short duration.

I'll check it out in my own spectroscope with a 44kHz sample.

Nope, it's a TV. Trust me on this one.

(The reason I found this is that I edited this clip, with the "INCOMMING!" first, to use it as a ringtone on my cellphone.)

Can't it be a resonance? It's certainly strange it's the same frequency as a tv (i trust you on this one), but each object has it's own frequency... so maybe it's coincidence?

or, maybe just a feedback signal? And this frequency depends on the stuff used. It does make sense...

Nope. It continues at the exact same amplitude throughut the whole clip, that's not the caracteristics of a resonance imho.

Could be cymbals resonating too.... Maybe someone sat too near the cymbals when performing the intro.

Cymbals typically have a freq range of 15000 Hz.

Well, i think it is possible actually. I think there's a frequency on which the resonance stabilizes. The feedback going through the mic -> speakers -> mic -> speakers -> mic -> etc. can stabilize, and that doesn't have to take a long time...
