Greetings from sunny Wolverhampton

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Hello Sisters fans.Discovered this forum last night and didn't realise there were so many people who still feel so passionate about the Sisters of mercy.
Although I'm less than impressed with Von's material since Floodland,The Sisters remain,to me,one of the most important bands of all time.Their appearance on "The old Grey Whistle test" playing Marian in 1985 was responsible for turning me from a punk with goth tendancies into a full time goth,which ,apart from a few years in the 90's,I have remained ever since.
Hopefully joining this forum will allow me to speak to some likeminded people who think that the Gothic rock made between 1985 and 1991 was some of the finest music ever made.

Goth :?: :!: GOTH :?:

:wink:
We are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine.
And intellectual love gods in our spare time.
Welcome to Heartland Bill. Excellent name :!:
Hope you will be attending the upcoming carnage roadshow.

Billy, you will eventually learn to avoid the word "goth" on here. :wink: :lol: If anything, you can be a "goth in denial". that's about it.

I don't. :innocent:
You should know that we at Heartland tend to make fun of everything gothic on a regular basis. We are pretty harmless though. 8)

Apart from that, "welcome to my nightmare" (been listening to Alice Cooper).
Don't be afraid, it's not as bad as it sounds.

Yep Goth,sorry folks.Goth and proud of it.
Not so proud of being a midlander,but that's life.
The few years in the 90's were spent enjoying the joys of techno,specifically goa trance.
Please feel free to take the p*ss!

if you're going to be a goth (or anything for that matter) you should be proud of it! :notworthy:

if you're not proud of being a midlander it's because you're the wrong side of the M1.... :P

...and we've got proper techno this side as well- goa trance is trance, surely? :wink:

welcome to HL! 8)

"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

An introduction in the General Forum may garner more attention (both good and bad :innocent: ), so I will swing this over to there.

LOL.Not stalking you Andy(Don't all stalkers say that?),just a little disillusioned with the state of the Metrofox/Gifford arms forum.It appears to be being taken over by wannabes who's sole purpose in life is to"Pull a sexy goff burd",plus I think my sarcastic sense of humour is wasted,even when I get serious about music most of them havn't a clue what I'm on about.Pity cus it used to be a great laugh and Hex in the city is still the only Goth/alternative night worth bothering with;Yes folks there is a goth night that plays other Sisters tunes beside Temple of love 92!

[quote="Quiff Boy"]hola :D

:lol:

:D Water off a ducks back old boy.Though I must say in my defence I'm a goth by default as there seems to be no other way to either describe myself or my favourite music;Yes I wear mainly black clothes and my favourite choons were made between 1985 and 1991 by miserable blokes who also favoured black attire.I hate the Term "goth" being as it was a derogatory term used by the music press to take the p*ss but when people see me they see a goth and not "an individual",I tired of denying it so a GOTH I am!
Then again I don't conform to the usual goth stereotypes;
1)I'm not miserable(well not all the time,sometimes I smirk smugly to myself)
2)I am not a Satanist(all that sacrificing virgins is so messy)
3)I do not think I'm a vampire(even Daz can't shift stubborn blood stains)
4)I am not a teenager(far bloody from it)
5)I hate heavy metal(Mostly)
6)I'm not overly fond of EBM(apart from Covenant)and I don't wear goggles on my head for no apparent reason.
7)I don't dress up in rubber/PVC and indulge in bizarre sexual fetishes(not in public anyway)
8]I am not a Germanic tribesman with a penchent for sacking Rome
9)I'm not effeminate or narcisstic(Doesn't go down well on building sites at all)
And most importantly;
10)I don't deny being a goth(goth denial is so 90's passe)
Actually "coming out" as a goth is quite liberating,you really should try it!

Didn't James Ray once say "trance is goth with the horror taken out" or something? Either way, proper techno:
