I think it must be some secret self hating thing that makes me torture myself by coming on here everyday to watch the european dates pass slowly by before England gets its turn...can't wait til I have the money to solve my impatience by greeting them on the first european date of each tour!
As I say to all have a great time, cheer abit louder to make up for me not being there :D

Mornin'

Setlist, erm, Crash n'burn, Ribbons..... Then I forget (very generous with their whisky in the Hellenic Republic I can assure you)... Mucho fog, no chat, a couple of light moshes (Lucretia, temple etc) Nice venue. To be honest a pretty average gig with a couple of highlights (Ribbons, Dominion, a great Romeo Down) Followed by a cracking encore (I was wrong and Vision Thing were badass). Short-ish gig, which really annoyed some of the locals.

All in all a pretty enjoyable gig, in a great place, full of great people. This is a city I could really get to like, wish I could stay for NMA next week.

Ho-hum, back to the real world on Monday.

The only good thing about Eldritch's visit in Thessaloniki were
the signatures I got on ALL my covers from the true pre '85 SOM era!
I managed to meet him at the airport and he signed everything!

But...

Dear Andy, where is your GOOD stuff that build your myth?
Where is Adrenochrome?
Where is Marian, Amphetamine Logic, Gimme Shelter,
FALAA, Knocking OHD, Fix....?
Whats with these guns n roses guitar solos?

The conditions were most excellent!
Smoke and lights created a true SOM environment,
the place was perfect and full of ready-to-explode Sisters fans.
But what did we get?

An incurious playlist, highlighted with some ultra guitared Alice, Burn,
Body Electric, Lucretia, Dominion-MR...

Not only me but most of the crowd was pretty much disappointed.
Andrew and his 2 employees failed to fulfill our expectations
for a pleasant journey back in time.

Black October and Wake will now give me (again)
the pleasure I lost.

Some things better stop existing
to prevent THIS corrosion!

Andrew and his 2 employees aren't there to pander to your nostalgic aspirations.

"Thanks" for the "review" anyway, you're most entitled to your opinion.
More thanks to the other 2 reviews, though...as they were more relevant to me.

Sorry about Body Electric my mistake, wishful thinking.... :-)

As for my nostalgic aspirations,
YES when The Sisters, after a quarter of a century of existance,
appear for the first time in a city that teached underground to Greece
(and I mean Thessaloniki in late 70s-early 80s)
YES they should respect their audience and give'em something more
than this I-can-play-the-guitar show!
The crowd was ready to come but there was no erection
if you know what I mean...

Performing in Germany, England, usa or other
fed up with concerts countries, should be different
than "thirsty" for gigs places like Greece.
At least thats my opinion as a 25 year devoted Sisters believer
dear itnAklipse!

Anyway, my body and soul will always beat
towards Doktor Avalanche no matter what!

ps
I also watched them in Athens, about 10 years ago
and they were much better, more Sisterish!

No wonder you were disappointed... :innocent:
May I observe that Wake is more than 20 years old now ?
Guess what ? Time flies, bands move on.

god, i don't remember when i see last photo or video from this tour :x
don't mention a 100% sure setlist...
people, what's going on?

OK bands move on, I agree.
Could you please tell me
which Sisters you fell in love with?
The original ones or the 2nd-3rd version ones?

For me, everything that Andrew laid hands on
was marvellous but I cant be objective
cause I adore the Sisters so much.

Producing music is one thing
playing live in specific places and audiences is another

Smoke was one of the BEST things in the show
read the posts.
I'd prefer some more of the strobe light though.

The atmosphere was splendid but...

it was a joke, emot ...
it's obvious that smoke makes this "atmosphere"

This Is Absolutely Hilarious!!!
You Guys Were So Ready For The Sisters To Come Home (To Europe that is).
After reading reviews from Athens and Thesaloniki, I have to tell you I am totally confused. No straight reviews, no sure set lists.... very sloppy and confusing. And Best of All..... people are Complaining already .... ;D ;D ;D
When The Sisters launched the tour in the US (Las Vegas) There was even an audio and people wrote reviews (neat and straighforward) ones right and left. Exciting Times indeed!
I read Athens thread and this one and I am confused.
Most Reviews on the US tour were good reviews with clear & neat set lists, pictures and sometimes audio. Yes, San Fran was an exception.
Let's see what our friends in Europe can do.
The Ball is in your camp....

No whining from my corner, Europe is slightly different to the USA, the primary language spoken by most SISTERS fans in the USA is English, so far we have two dates played in Europe in Greece where English is most definately not , if you want a like for like comparison wait til they play the UK.

Europe with its language barriers will still do a mighty fine job and from my experience the audio will be much better and so will the gigs.
