Bad, bad news.

The Stuffies were one of my favourate bands, as much if not more so than the Sisters. Martin Gilk's drumming was always one of the things that made them in my opinion.

Bloody hell. My stepfather was madly in to them at one point, so some of my earliest memories involve watching VHS copies of gigs and interviews...

Some of my fondest memories were seeing the original Stuffies play Reading fest in 88 and 89.....they were truly a great band back then, and this news is so sad.

Didn't the original bass player from the Wonderstuff also die very young, a good few years ago?

Yup, fantastic line up... I was there too, only time I saw the stuffies live, but they were brilliant... very sad news.

Saw them at The Boardwalk in Manchester (don't look for it, it's not there any more) back in what, '87? '88? Just about the time of "A Wish Away" being released. Bought that on 7" the next day from Boots.

Ah memories.

I was wondering what song of theirs I'd heard, must have been "A Wish Away". Typical, I know most of the lyrics, but couldn't for the life of me remember the band.

Bad news, then. RIP.

'unbearable' has long been my fave, cos it fit someone SO perfectly at the time, and it has done sterling service since, as well

I missed Ghost Dance by about ten minutes that day

Saw The Stuffies a few times, never seen them when they were anything but excellent, including a about 3 years ago in the Barrowlands.....superb

Only just come across this...Like Paddy said - they were my favourite band by a long chalk for some years (until after the 3rd album).
Fuckin' tragic.
And I was at reading 88 - they were on before the Ramones.
