vote for the Sisters on this site...

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

psst... Top Secret.

Dutch Broadcasting Company VPRO set up a poll for 300 of the best albums all time. And... VISION THING is in it.

http://3voor12.vpro.nl/3voor12/poll/ind ... s=28166508

That's all. Mark The Sisters' Vision Thing and we'll see where it ends in this Top Album 300 List. Go kids, go!!! What  we will see if VT ends up higher than the president.

But be warned. This Poll only counts from Saturday! So don't do it earlier...

Vision Thing is good, yes.

Maybe not quite the "Gift from God and his angels" that Von likes to think it is, but a stonking good rock 'n' roll LP all the same, and a thunderously enjoyable experience in a HM bar at 2 in the morning with umpteen pints of cider hammering through ya.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Vision thing rocks.
But I'm not going to vote either. They picked Kate Bush's first over The dreaming and Hounds of love !!!
That's just sick !
They also picked The Cure's 17 seconds over Pornography and Disintegration. I'm not going to support such nonsense.

And New Order's Republic over Technique.

Next thing they'll be promoting Nyarthatolep action figures over Cthulhu soft toys :)

Then I realise what a crock "Vision thing" is.

Hey - I'll vote for it! But then I'd vote for I Am Rock by Zodiac Mindwarp. And Dawnrazor.

I must say, I rushed back all the way from Nottingham to Peterborough with the More 12", dying to put it on my turntable, and it was one of the most disappointing experiences ever. Rather like Brain Drain by the Ramones. And Impurity by New Model Army. And Razors Edge by AC/DC. 1990 wasn't shaping up into a good year, despite my almost continual intoxication.

When VT was released, it gave me a good deal more inspiration. Dr Jeep (so much more damaged and screaming than the 12" version), When You don't See Me (ok, not the most original, but listen to the bass in the quieter moments) Detonation Boulevard (I was a great fan of the Nemesis story in 200AD, so anything mentioning Torquemada was good for me) and I Was Wrong, not to mention VT, was good for me.

So yes, a shock to the system. But, ultimately, a good one. It's got my vote.

More than made up for by the B-side I hope.

More's a good song. I Was Wrong is a very good song, and Something Fast is quite good. Vision Thing has its time and place. Detonation, WYDSM, Doctor Jeep I can live without. But Ribbons...

Ribbons...

Keuze means Choice. So you have choice 1, 2, etc.

No. 1 has the most points. So if you rate VT no. 1, it'll end up high.
