At least there isn't one yet that would've been available for download or weeding. But many outstanding recordings exist for trading (relativelly speaking). _________________ we've got beer and we've got fuel |

Crash and burn is missing, so quite not complete... yet.
An A-class boot nonetheless. _________________ I'd end this moment to be with you

Surely we must be reaching the point where we
can torrent these recordings, in FLAC format as
necessary ? The whole point of file sharing is
that we can all collectively share.... much the
same as weeding, right ?
So what's with all the buying cd's, envelopes,
stamps, trips to the post box ? It seems alittle
unneccessary to me, thats all.
What do others think ? Can we create a torrent thread, similar to the weeding thread ? |

Not everyone has a huge bandwith at their disposal Also it's a great way to slow myself down a bit
That put aside, seems like a nice idea, think someone has been looking for the right software to do that before _________________ Styles are a lie.

I'm trying to work out how to build something similar to DimeADozen. Failing that I can try to work out how the f*ck I host torrents on Azureus, but it's a bit complicated.
There's a thread here where a few feelers were put out. I'll look into it when I'm a bit less busy at work. _________________ it is my firm belief that it is a mistake to hold firm beliefs |

You can get DaD's source-code for free:
DaD FAQ wrote: | How to obtain a copy of the tracker's source codes?
This site is powered by EzTorrent v0.5.3, which is coded and maintained by easytree.org. The source codes are available for free under no license and without any warranty. To obtain a copy of the source codes send mail to the developers. Please include to this mail:
* your full name and snail mail address (postboxes are not accepted),
* the domain name, where you want to run EzTorrent v0.5.3,
* full name and snail mail address of the domain's owner (postboxes are not accepted),
* agreement upon not changing certain hard coded DB info like tracker name and code version and to follow open source policies by never selling the coding in whole or in parts.
You will then get your source codes copy on CDR via snail mail. Mailing costs will be borne by us. |

People who are on NTL generally cannot connect to Rapidshare as we go through proxy servers. This is a major problem.
How about using something like Pirate Bay to do torrent files rather than using Dimeadozen which needs to be signed up to. At least everyone will be able to connect to it. _________________ 24.24.2.489 Deceased |

For NTL it's an advantage. Just pop in another proxy and you can download all night, no need to even wait an hour after each download.
-------------
Changing the proxy
Firstly, get yourself a proxy from this page [http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.h.walker/cmtips/trancache.html] (scroll down to the big green bit 2 thirds of the way down the page). (The page also has Blueyonder proxy's on it so I guess this solution might work with blueyonder too. Anyone reading this who's not with ntl or blueyonder will have to find a list of web proxy's for their own isp, or find a free proxy. Free ones tend to only give you something like 5k/sec though.)
It helps if you choose a proxy that's nearest to you, but it doesn't matter that much. For example when Leeds webcaches go down I use a Manchester one.
Once you've selected a proxy you need to set it. For IE it's tools-internet options-connections-lan settings-advanced (for other browsers you'll have to find it yourself). For http enter your proxy (from that page, just so you copy the right info the proxy looks like this... manc-cache-2.server.ntli.net ...choose one from a town nearest you (or your own town) for best results), and the port (this is important) 8080 (NOT 80 as you might expect.) I'm not sure if other isp's use port 8080, but for ntl it's essential to bypass the proxy. I've also found that if I don't set the proxy my uploads to web-based uploaders like rapidshare, yousendit, yahoo briefcases etc get corrupted, so I have the proxy set permanently. Some people might experience slower browsing with the proxy set. If so just unset it afterwards. I leave mine set permanently.

Damn, so different and fresh it's hard to get my bearings straight! Great groove. Like it a lot. To me it brings to mind, if a little comparison is allowed, the great Detonation Boulevard mixed with Dr. Jeep.
Thank you, Doctor Poo! Thank you, Sisters! _________________ we've got beer and we've got fuel |

Oh wowsie, that is so so good. Does this mean that the new lineup is writing music? It's hardly a previously unplayed hangover from the Pearson/Varjak days. This reminds me of the glory days of 97 when new songs were coming into the set in mid-tour. _________________ Trigonometry. It's a sin. |
