B.F.G. - Western Sky / Murder / Fall

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Does anyone but me remember this band? They were called B.F.G. and were out of Manchester if I recall. They had (at least) one 12" with "Western Sky" on the A side and "Murder" and "Fall" on the flip. It came out in 1987. The reason I ask is: Rumor at the time of the record release was that the band were somehow related to The Sisters.... I heard (at different times) that a) the singer was Andy's bother/cousin/alter-ego and b) Andy produced the record. Can anyone illuminate? I've long wondered about this, even though I assume there's no connection at all. I have the record spinning now, and it's not too bad, although clearly not Andy at all...

Some info here

I think they're the band who blew the Stone Roses off stage when they supported them back in the 1980's

Very nice noise, wonder who their influences were? :innocent:

Dammit, they're GOOD.

Time to splash out.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
