To all who are coming for the July weekender...

After the incident at Black Oktober last year, where one of the bar staff found a packet of "pills" in the gents' loo, I've been asked to remind everyone that drugs will not be permitted either in the Mixing Tin or The George.

Furthermore, anyone found to be in possession of illegal substances will be escorted from the venue(s) and barred from attending the other night(s).

We have managed to maintain a really good working relationship with the people that run The George so far, but the incident last October nearly soured that. :urff:

We had to do some serious sweet-talking...

This also had repercussions on the Sunday night, by which time word had gotten around and The Bassment's bouncers were very wary, and on the look out for suspiciously f*cked people.

We never found out who the package belonged to, though several people have been kind enough to "help us rule them out of our enquiries"

It might not even have belonged to a HL punter, and may have been dropped by someone who wandered in off the street.

Nonethless, I'm asking everyone to keep this request in mind :)

Its not just Heartland that use The George for events like this, and the venue's management and staff have been nothing but helpful and co-operative with many other event organisers working within Leeds' "alternative" scene :notworthy:

I'd hate for us to f**k it up for everyone.

Hence this polite request. Just be sensible, respect their wishes (and to be frank, the law  ) and keep it out of the 'Tin and The George...?

I don't wish to sound heavy handed about this, but I think its the least we can do is play nicely and do as they request.

Thanks for your understanding :)
