Sounds pretty groovy. If only the girls could play on the same bill as Kasabian slightly closer to home.

To keep this thread on topic about the gig, I've split out the developing discussion on football hooliganism to here

No need to apologize. It belongs here. Besdies, if there were no duplicated topics here, the place would be very empty.dtsom wrote:

Unfortunately this date falls the day after a wedding I'm going to. The one and only Nick (my driver!). Any dates in Sept are out for me. Line up looks good. Sisters and Editors on the same bill.
Enjoy those of you going.
Matt..

and the blurb was right on the button with no mention of the dreaded 'G' word and the last para:
The new album is reportedly being recorded in no hurry, and, according to Eldritch, can be completed in a few months if such need arises. Their 2006 tour began February 16 and includes dates in the USA, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Denmark, Finland, England, Scotland and Turkey.

Had a brief chit chat with the usual suspects, looks promising The Swedish mob might turn up. But talking to a fellow nurse, turns out you might need shoots against every common descease possible known to the modern man I might consider not going. Not funny ending up home from work 2-3 month, just for one concert.

haha, spig's hat, a trip by any dolmus from the Marmaris Sea to Istanbul is worth the price of an Extremo VHS tape @ HMV but at least the horror experience of a dolmus is the same as checking that certain tape
I probably won't go but I'll look into the costs and then decide. I shouldn't even be considering it, but it might make up for missing Budapest.pikkrong wrote:Jens, I'm thinking seriously about it. Do you have my e-mail?jenzi-benzi wrote:anyone planning to go therre?

Dunno how much it would cost but it would take 15hrs by bus each way! so you'd have to fly.Spiggy's hat wrote:Wonder how much it costs to get from Marmaris to Istanbul?
M'colleague at work frequently visits Marmaris, so she supplied the above info, it could be all bollocks tho.

Perhaps you could go by bus, which wouldn't be to expensive for Europeans I guess, but God knows if you'd come out of that aliveJames Blast wrote:Dunno how much it would cost but it would take 15hrs by bus each way! so you'd have to fly.Spiggy's hat wrote:Wonder how much it costs to get from Marmaris to Istanbul?

I remember spending two hours on a Greek bus back in the 80s when I was young and fit, even then it was no fun at all, so a 30 hour round trip is an absolute fright!

Greek traffic? You'd better just go and play Russian Roulette
Even on their motorways they're just completely bonkers, 3-lane equals 6 lanes, at least

Think I'll drop a line to my friend in Istanbul and see what the lie of the land is.
If any one needs local info I can ask him for you.
Only option from the uk really is Turkish Airlines, so depends on the flight costs I guess too..
If anyone is flying in/out a word of warning and allow half a day to get through the airport. Last time I was there had to go through endless queues and 4 or 5 security checks. You even get put through a metal detector just to enter the building.
