"FINS BE SCARLET"

It's a typical Von play-on-words and alludes to:

"Isaiah 1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17: Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18: Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: THOUGH YOUR SINS BE AS SCARLET, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19: If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."

The Bible is a good book if you don't take it seriously.

"Finland Red, Egypt White" Not that I am saying that it explains the reference, but it was the first thing which came to mind with the words "fins be scarlet"

Fins be scarlet could also be a reference to Hunster S. Thompson's car, The Shark. It was/is red if I recall. Fits in with the traffic/drug image.

Ah, but can you chop down the tallest tree in the forest with it?

I'm sure Von stated in an issue of UTR that it was all about "taking acid and merging with the freeway - though your fins be scarlet".

sounds right, and definitely fits with HST and the great red shark.
