TDK emptyCD-R 700MB up to 52x speed

hi all
back from my holliday and since I was asked for some weeds I decided to buy some decent
CD's. So it became the TDK's. however the writer indicates that the medium is not ok ? Anyone an idea how this comes. Never had a problem like this before.

Hmmm, they've always worked ok for me in the past, but I've been using Sony recently

Could be a bad batch of discs possibly?
Check if there's a firmware upgrade for your writer...some brands work better with specific drives (altho this usually applies more to DVD's than CD's), a firmware upgrade could fix this.

Never had a problem either. The whole CD burning thing is so mature by now that it's unlikely to be a compatibility glitch.
What brand is the writer?

tried some more on this bloody thing. I succeeded in making a photo cd with the tdk's so it burns ok. Just doesn't want to succed in copy an audio cd or dvd. strange thing.

Never had any problems with TDK. Currently using Sony and Maxell. Also fine!

Try burning at a slower speed. It's recommended that you don't do faster than 4x for audio cd's to ensure no glitches.

Yeah, Dan has a good point there. Also, what program do you use and maybe there is something wrong with the wav files? Have you tried using EAC?

Surprisingly enough, I had probs with TDK once, too.
Not a single one of the buggers wanted to accept my WAV files.
When checking in the store, the guy told me I was not the only one, so he sent the whole bunch back to TDK. Now he doesn't sell TDK anymore.
What I do now, is: go to Colruyt or Carrefour (Belgium only I guess?), buy a spindle of 50 from a known brand (Sony in my case) and burn away.
Never had any probs with them whatsoever.
Oh, and for audio: refrain from using NERO. I had more problems with the program than anything else.
I'm talking rather semi-pro audio here, so a simple copy will do... but I'm now using WaveLab from Steinberg for my audio and it works a lot!!!! better
Plus it comes with mastering tools, EQ, and various restoration tools. It is quite expensive, but there are *cough* other ways. Then again, I sponsored Steinberg a week or two ago, so they can't complain...
