Well, as we're doing 70s bands threads and others felt they still have to resist doing a Tangs thread (:innocent:) while I came across a huuuuuge selection at my favourite recordshop:

I've listened to Ricochet, Rubycon and Pheadra, just got me a Alpha Centauri/Atem double-LP.

Which other ones are must-haves?

Now, now calm down people Heartland Gegen Hippie Bashing! ;D

the only other one's I've heard outside of what you mentioned Z that are worth cocking an ear to are: Zeit/Logos/Poland

the first Virgin trilogy of Phaedra/Rubycon/Ricochet can't really be beat though

I'll check those out then :D

Listened to Alpha Centauri yesterday night (only A-side I think, after all I do use most of my vinyl as bedtime music ) and as a matter of fact it didn't seem to get up there with P/R/R :|

Tonight I'm having some Klaus Schulze 8)

IIRC Z they did a special concert of Phaedra in Londres last year, the official site is down ATM but check it out for updates/history etc. Having said that, what passes as The Tangs these days is a shadow of their former self. Live Miles was their last album I heard, a live double CD with not one decent moment. :(

I agree with Mr Blast - they're not a patch on their old fully-improvised gig days, but i really did enjoy the last Astoria show, made only sweeter by my decision to buy one of the 300 "The Keep" cds for a tenner (they now go for £100+ on ebay!)

BTW, there are some classic live recordings (and "The Keep" alternate version fan project) available via this rather stonking TG forum...
