You've released more music in the past month than Eldritch has in fifteen years.

<--------- Impressed
Want has a strong Nosferatu vibe (that's a compliment, believe it or not
).
Like your take on
Giving Ground. Is a more polished version in the pipeline?

We currently have no plans to record a studio version of Giving Ground but I'm sure there'll be one in the not-to-distant future
EDIT - Speaking of Giving Ground... A while ago someone posted the correct lyrics. I was looking for em when we recorded the session but couldn't find it. I think I've got the lyrics right but it would be nice to have the correct ones just to check coz on all the lyrics websites there's a "..." part
Anyone know where they were posted?

Dark may be the chap to ask? I'm sure he could tell you the difference between the 7" and album version too...
Or if
Dark can't help, you could always try that
James Ray bloke.

Words in
bold don't appear on the Gift version.
The Sisterhood wrote:In the place through which we wander
Reason is turned around
And every fool who scuttles up
Will see his madness drowned
And every truth is swallowed up
By gently giving ground
What you have lost can never be found
Words are just dust in deserts of sound
Everything is lost and your trust lies broken
And the truth is drowned
I watch as you surrender
To silence-loving screams (replaced by "Because I know")
And now I know you will not see
The madness we have seen
And now I know you can not be
All that your flight has been
What you have lost can never be found
Words are just dust in deserts of sound
Everything is lost and your trust lies broken
And the truth is drowned
I stood but you just could not wait
These lines are driven straight
Through the circles of your hate
Because I know you can not be
All that your flight has been
What you have lost can never be found
Words are just dust in deserts of sound
Everything is lost and the truth is drowned
Everything is lost in the giving ground
Everything is lost in the giving ground
In the giving ground
Everything is lost
In the Giving Ground
Those are from memory, but I've taken a quick listen through both, and they seem right.

Is that from the AV/RSV version? where did you find it?
Posted: 10 Sep 2006, 19:28
by Dark
That's from the RSV version. I didn't find it, I wrote it out myself from memory, and a couple of corrections by ear.

Been listening to it over the last few days. "Want" I already know and like, but I'm seriously impressed with what you've done to Giving Ground. I like the way you based it around the live arrangement, and there's a definite and measurable improvement in the vocals. The instrumentation is also a lot tighter. Practice it seems is paying off.
A few quibbles - it goes major wobbly for a bit in the intro, the backing vocals had me reaching for something solid to cling to, and the ending of it is dog rough, but for a session track these are relatively minor gripes. There's something in here that might be lost in a more polished rendition, however.
