I found this back in my Favourites, and I wanted to share this mainly with all these young musicians on HL. Also the older ones, but maybe they have the original cards at home or they work with the software for a while already

The "Oblique" cards, created way back in the late 70s by famous ambient composer and general art afficionado Brian Eno, in collab with a good friend of his, painter Peter Schmidt, are useful for every musician, painter, writer... whatever.... ARTIST, to help them when they are in a tight spot.

In short, these cards, chosen randomly, will help you when you are stuck in whatever artistic ability you are currently stuck. Just pick a card, think about it, and see the light. They might seem cryptic at first, but just let it seep in, and maybe you see a way out of that "writer's block"...

It sound a bit new-age and esoteric, but I use the Oblique cards for some years now, and they really help when you are in an artistic "tight spot".

I hope these cards, being the wisdom of the genius that is Brian Eno, will help you in your further career as either a pro or an amateur artist...

These cards were also used during the recording of Bowie's Outside (but not the late 70s Bowie-Eno collaborations IIRC).
