Back to Sisters stuff (in a roundabout way), be interesting to see what the notes and sleeves on the reissues are like. Rhino did a rather good job on the Yes reissues (apart from not bothering with the last WEA release) Not that I'm a diehard Yes fan but they really did put some effort into it and did their research into the extra tracks. Some reissues I've seen that have notes are riddled with errors and even have the wrong tracks, like what German lable Repatoir did with the Art Of Noise 20th Anniversary reissue of Into Battle With The Art Of Noise. Now that was a real f**k up.

Best remasters package I've seen was the Adam Ant / Adam And The Ants box set with limited bonus CD. Some of the early stuff was produced by Chris Hughes who did Temple '92, Under The Gun, Alice '93. I wonder how Eldritch decided upon that choice of producer?

What's him being or not being a goth got to do with anything? It's not like The Sisters are goths or anything.

edit - I think the FALAA reissue was great, but the rest were, to be crass about it, utter s**t.

Just having one of my manic turns, dead and goth seemed to go together. Must take my medication....

A pity that the exteneded version of Lucretia isn't on Floodland, my CD has bitrot or whatever it's called like a lot of "indestructable" CDs from the 1980s. Listing Torch and Colours as bonus tracks is a bit wanky as, according to Von, they were meant to be on a limited edition of Floodland but the record company never done what they were supposed to do and left them on. About right for them I suppose.

The omission of a reissue of Body And Soul sucks. I put my own CD of that together and weighs in at a tad over 80 minutes with all the different versions of Afterhours taking up most of that. Well it is one of my favourite Sisters songs of all time, never get board with that.

You can get "Body & Soul" and the extended version of "Lucretia" on A Slight Case of Overbombing...

I don't own Overbombing but downloaded the entire CD from somewhere ages ago. If memory serves, the version of Lucretia on that was a bit shorter, not the nearly 10 minute version from the CD single. I could be wrong though.

I wonder how likely the demo version of This Corrossion will appear as a late extra. Yeah right. Apparently (I think the more knowledgable Heartland members will know the exact details and it might be elsewhere on this forum) Steinman persuaded Von to remove some lyrics as they would be actionable from a certain other party that the song was about.

If I'm not being too mad at the moment, I wonder if we should have a go at trying to put together what the words for This Corrossion could have been for a bit of fun? Hopefully it won't cause problems for the moderators and hasn't been done elsewhere.

Might be unfair calling Hussey's songs as s**t though. After all, they are cobbled together using other people's works and nothing original of his own. When I was thinking about words that *might* be used, "little runt" and things that rhymed with "runt" sprang to mind but thought those more sensitive folk out there might be upset...

Maybe the re-releases appear on their list, they go the site and find out the 6 year old news?

One of them didn´t understand the live news on the Sissies´ HP was out of date and the others weren´t arsed to check the news. As somebody said elsewhere, Andrews theory of evolution is apparently proven.
It´s a result of people not doing the work they collect their pay for.

Elmer Fud? Mind you, I think most people would know who the "little runt" is though. Hussey is a bit like a little fart in a lift from someone else, never seems to go away and is not a nice thing.

Sorry... approx.70 minutes of different versions of Afterhours? What, pray tell, are these versions? The live intro versions? Or the old fan-made equalizer "demos"? Or have I missed something? Very curious as I like the song a lot, too, and always wondered about different versions...

CD weighs in about 82 mins in total, it's the Body & Soul EP with Long Train and the very long versions of Afterhours, demos and the like. As you say, some versions are very likely the 'old fan-made equalizer' stuff but Afterhours for about 12 minutes is cool. Were they originally that long or are they the fan-nade stuff again?

More likely to be fan-made. I hear there's an "Extended Version", in which you can hear (thanks to minimal editing) the needle being placed back on the record to "extend" it. I'm sure I have a tape with a "demo" mix or two on it..

I may be wrong but I'll love my fellow man anyway. Actually, I can't. My girlfriend would kill me if I thought like that.

This Corrossion was about hussey (small 'h' on purpose as a capital letter would indicate importance something which hussey could never acheive unless you are insane), so that is why the lycrics *could* have been changed.


Just a thought now. TSOM have done some unusal cover versions over the years, I wonder if Von would conside doing a cover of the m*****n's "Mercanery" and dedicate it to hussey? That would make me laugh but then, I am mad.

This news was picked up but is VASTLY out of date, this is based on info found on the band's website which hasn't be updated for some time like well over 6-7 years ago.

I wondered what made Von go along with such an arrangement that he had with Pearson, ie, nothing being released without it being on a major label?

I may be off base but I would think it would be a bargining position. If "Summer" had been released to the net as planned. I doubt they would have much an "edge" with a Major label.

If I was a Major label and given the choice of releasing the first single in god know how many years from a band with nothing new released I would argue I would make more money from that rather than if they released singles on the websites over the years.

Again I could be completely off base with that but that's just MHO.
