Original Fields of the Nephilim to reform?

From the bands official website;
On a more speculative note, the buzz in the Watchman camp is that recently Carl McCoy has been in intensive discussions with original members Paul and Nod Wright. Although the reasons for these meetings are yet to be disclosed, the rumour is that a further more positive announcement will be made in the near future
And this somewhat cryptic message from Paul Wright to me on The Dawnrazor forum;
Dear Wild Bill Buttock, Paul Wright here. Found it impossible to stay away after a month's thinking about the website . Please be sure that with future work you'll be the first to know.
Now I might well be adding 2 and 2 and getting five but........

Could very well be Monkey spunk, James, but Paul Wright's post was on a Thread called Crackle.The Bauhaus connection could well proove to be interesting.

There has been speculation to this effect since the last tour was cancelled.
So that lends a bit of support...

Could be misreading it but
Crackle was the album recorded on the 97(?) Bauhaus reunion tour.And I've been going on that The Neph should "Do a Bauhaus"-reform and do a hits tour, for months on various forums.
If this all comes off I'll start nagging Hussey about a Sisters reunion next

Whaterver your personal opinion on Last Rites - the most recent album has hardly set the world on fire. The prospect of gigs seems few and far between for Nod and Paul, so a Neph tour probably isn't much of a sacrifice for them.
NFD, however, seem to be doing quite well and I can't imagine Tony putting that on hold.
Peter Yates seems to sporadically guest on records, though like Les Patterson from EATB, he probably wouldn't be up for returning to the life of a touring musician.
I guess 3 out of 5 wouldn't be bad.
PS
Haven't heard what Garry Whisker is doing these days.

I'm really surprised. After the way the last reunion attempt collapsed, I'm amazed they'd want anything to do with each other. But the Wrights were badly missed on Mourning Sun (Pettit less so, since whoever was playing bass on MS was copying his style completely), so a reunion would be a treat for the ears indeed.
And yes, I would be delighted to see The Sisters re-Hussey'd. Inspiring guitar players his replacements have not been. Still, it'd be hard for two decades of cattiness to be got over on both sides..

They are indeed. But I'd still like to see FotN. Just once'd do then they can go back to whatever it is that they do when they're not being FotN.

i wouldn't mind seeing the FotN again...for the pure adrenalin shot that was their live show...but they'd have to be damn good as NFD are stunning live!!

Crakle release 07/07/1998
To celebrate their 20th anniversary, Bauhaus reunited for a tour and released the Crackle compilation in the U.S. The band initially claimed that Crackle was an American edition of 1979-1983: Vol. 2, which was never released in the U.S., but less than half of the songs appear on both collections. Which means, of course, that Crackle shouldn't be viewed as a compilation for collectors -- instead, it's an excellent single-disc overview of the group's brief career, containing all of their essential songs, from "In the Flat Field" and "Bela Lugosi's Dead" to "Ziggy Stardust" and "Burning from the Inside." Hardcore fans may wish there was something special about the comp -- the only thing new is the perfectly adequate remastering -- but it's nice that there's finally a thorough single-disc retrospective of the groundbreaking goth quartet.

Not to mention the first appearance of the studio version of Bela outside of the single. Dunno where you got that from,
9, but whoever wrote it obviously has no idea about the band.

What version is on Bauhuas Volume One then?
Or are you referring to the U.S. release reference?

Live version from Press The Eject. That's all that's ever been available before Crackle (aside from the original single, of course).
I'd say having the original studio Bela on CD for the first time ever was something special.

But dosen't or didn't Small Wonder Records have rights to the single version of Bela?
edit: just listened to both Bauhaus Volume One & Press the Eject and Give Me the Tape and you are correct. Both live versions of Bela.
