Sick to F*cking Death of....

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

It's supposed to be FUN

No doubt I'm going to be lambasted for this and yes it's not my forum (all hail QB :notworthy: ) and yes I don't have to read/post on these threads but it does seem engineered to p*ss off, divide (and other such words) a wonderful little community.

I've made friends with lots of you in the real and magical world of the internetty but all this pish just gets in the way of that ;D

Eh. Some people seem to enjoy it.
i like to occasionally scan the threads to see how far the derails have gone (although earlier today was a classic) and the rest of the time just ignore 'em. :|

I wouldn’t mind the threads if the discussions were civil, but they’re filled with “bad tension, trolls(DarkAngel), and s**t (A.R.Kane and Kalipse).

I'm with you Stephen, they do tend to drag on and get peoples backs up, I do think some people start them to get a rise out of others

Another drink anyone?

At least it's not so bad as Dominion - here you can choose to ignore them (or savagely derail them).

I'm with Doomie & Nick - if someone's genuinely interested in discussing this stuff, no bother, let them. But the rather obvious baiting and saying something contentious just to get a reaction does become wearisome.

I like the occasional political thread, but as has already been noted in this thread, recently they've been:

1. far more frequent than they used to be
2. far less civil than they used to be
3. far more obsessively tied to one or two single issues than they used to be.

None of these three things are good.

If you don't like the topic - don't post on it. Friends can disagree you know - it is healthy. It may even promote the growth of a few brain cells. There are a few Heartlanders who enjoy a good discussion - even if they vehemently disagree. Let them have their fun Weebles. You like cheese....they like to discuss politics or religion.

Personally, I have grown to better understand some of my European friends through these topics - and have determined a few Heartlanders are nothing less than brilliant.

What about threads on > A Morlock autopsy of the Teletubbies

The ruling class, the Morlocks, conduct vivisection experiments on the Teletubbies. This is partly in the search for continued understanding of these surface-dwelling creatures, but mostly because they think it's funny.

I agree, I dont mind the occational thread, I just overlook them cause I have nothing to say on the matter anyway. But lately it has been alot, and I kinda went away cause of it. And coming back, there is even more. Ofcourse people can talk about what they want, but I miss the silly/lame threads. So I started one, lol. But, yeah, alittle bit less political and such would be nice.

Well, it'll be at his house. In about 10 minutes. I'm not sure he knows yet, but it'll serve him right for annoying us all with nice piccies of things we do not currently possess. I wonder where he lives exactly?
