This is a fudamentalist free thread. This thread is offered for those who wish to talk about anything and everything that doesn't contain the 'f' word or dialect.

HL is a Broad Church. All are welcome. Please show respect.

Thank you. :notworthy:

Edit: HL is a Broad Church so no anti-fudamentalist comments will be tolerated. Please play nicely, Danke.

Evening, John.

So, erm, what do rational, down to earth types talk about then?

I wouldn't know, I've only ever listened

I might know what that means. I might not.

You're right, Zuma. And it's certainly no time to be thinking. ;)

Just not in your back yard? ;)

Here's a thought for you:

If children learn languages without another language in place to explain the new tongue, how come language teaching in schools is done by proxy of English and not by immersion?

Are you just being antagonistic for the sake of it?

For the record, as far as I know, f*d died a long time ago, even the initial protaginists have had enough of that one....

JR7 is the only live user.

Get real. It's there. I'm not being provocative in the slightest Dave. People stay away because of the f*d. Fact. And the dialect. Fact. I'm merely offering one way to entice them back. And then hopefully integrate. Again. That's all.

No dialect, it says at the top.

The correct term is 'pshaw'.

A fairly welcomed effort albeit from an unsuspected corner.
Haven't you down as the reasonable-thread-starting kind of guy.

Do you know, I went to Edinburgh for the day last wednesday, and I didn't hear one person say fud all day. I was almost disappointed. It's right nice, is Edinburgh, big castle and everything. Though not as nice as Bamburgh, which has a cricket pitch at the foot of its castle. Now THAT's classy. Whereas Norham's castle is pants in comparison. We stayed in Norham (pronounced 'Norrum'). It makes Royston Vasey look normal. The butcher had ginger hair, but annoyingly didn't ask if I'd like any special stuff. My disappointment was tangible.

Aren't castles wickeeeddddddddd. :D
