Not sure if it was posted before. Look at the last part!!
(Not) from the Sisters Website:
Update (26/9/06) Album reissues
Sony/BMG (a subsidiary of Time Warner Inc) have confirmed they are
reissuing the first three Sisters Of Mercy albums
First And Last And Always (1985)
Floodland (1987)
Vision Thing (1990)
via Rhino on Monday, October 30th, 2006.
We belive some well educated and thoughtfull executive at
time warners noticed the silver bullet tour
and took his chance to jump on the train and milk a cow
he left for dead years ago,
but we can not say for sure as
we were not consulted!
We advise you to save your money for
the new album to be released by
merciful release and wait for
these reissues to be "leaked" onto the web.

Granted, the writing style is
-esque, but...here's a question: would the record company not have to consult the band if they were going to reissue the albums anyway?

A question: why did Never Land (less of a fragment) have extra lyrics on the 2006 tour and this (full length) version suddenly appear?
someone make this a new topic, mine all wither and die, and I really want to know

Did it really?
I never even noticed in the moment
The same extra bits or other extra bits

Oh, ok - I didn't know if he'd sold the rights or not. Wonder what he got for them...

Von hasn't sold the rights to Merciful Release, he only sold the rights to the SISTERS back catalogue, so he can release future SISTERS records through MR if he choses.
JR, Scoda Blush, MK Ultra, Salvation, MV etc. are all safe from the clutches of the WEA re-release machine!

I was not talking about MR.

Probably not as it was explicitly a different band and was distributed by Rough Trade first time round. Presumably Von's contract with Warners covered performance rather than composition.

No it was just "the sisters of mercy" back catalogue. Von can re-release / remaster etc Gift he so choses! In fact he could add all the vocal outtakes everyone keeps discussing as the extra tracks!

Why can Warner use the Merciful Label on the rereleases?

They probably have to mention MR.
And I wouldn´t be surprised if they considered copyright rather as being guidelines when it comes to their benefit.

just bought the 3 cd's today...
but what is weird is: says to be released by Rhino UK AND Merciful Release...
As they are both on there, can we assume that they are working togetter again?and maybe we can expect the new cd on the same lvl?
anyway.. they are realy cheap.. 9.90€ here.. so don't mind having the originals double...just bought them for the bonus tracks...
may we expect a best of vol.2 aswell? or an official release with B-sides?
who knows, but this re-release brings back the hope for me for new stuff in the near future...
