A friend of mine is looking for that song. For what I know, I think that it was only performed live. Could you please tell me on which bootleg that song is available? Thanx!!!!

I highly doubt the Girls ever played this one, whether it is live or in the studio. Never heard of it.

Never heard of it either.

Maybe your friend have read this wikipedia article.

"Gothic rock band The Sisters of Mercy have recorded a cover of the song."

Good, didn't think of it myself.

Yup. Maybe he was thinking about Gimme Shelter? A Rolling Stones track Sisters did cover.

Go for Laibach's version in the meantime, always makes me smile.

Actually I have quite a number of Sisters CD's and I looked at the track listings of a number of bootlegs, I didn't find it. But I've seen an article in German saying it was performed live.... bizarre!

I know Tiamat did a stonking version! ;D

It's on one of their officials, can't remember which one for certain. Could be Skeleton Skeletron...

It's on Skeleton Skeletron. Brighter Than The Sun, off the aforementioned album, seems to be a bit of a Sisters tribute, methinks.

They make a serious attempt at copping the Sisters' vibe all over that album.

That's so tricky with an open source infotainment thing like Wikipedia. On the one hand it's great, on the other hand it's where hoaxes, rumour, untruth and smelly stuff comes from.
"Gothic rock band The Sisters of Mercy have recorded a cover of the song."
Removed it because of the G-word? :innocent:

If you think Skeletron is a Sisters copy you should hear his solo-project Lucyfire "This dollar saved my life at Whitehorse" :innocent:

.... but in a good way I hasten to add. Does anyone know this album?

OMG    I found at Nics clicky the video I shot from Lucyfire's one and only ever live performance at Mera Luna in 2001.

I wish I'd never said anything disrespectful about any Sisters video. But please bear in mind it was a NO budget production. Darn, does EVERYTHING surface at YouTube nowadays?

@the boy: not  at all if you ask me, rather  and  . The album is p*ss-taking all the way. Not totally unlike Eldritch's.

I wish the sound and video quality WERE as bad as the normal sisters footage. No, even stronger, I wish someone pulled the plug out when this band recorded.

Wrong, girl... Lucyfire is a ZZ Top tribute all over! ;D (with the cover of 'Sharp Dressed Man' in front).

I always loved everything Edlund did, and certainly Lucyfire is even more 'taking the p*ss' at rock and roll, without degrading it.

There was a second Lucyfire in the pipeline, but nothing much happens, or so it seems :|

I was there too! One of the best gigs I ever saw EVER! Yelling along and headbanging till the very very end... if only he would do some more live Lucyfire gigs... :|

unfortunately not many people were as enthusiastic about this mélange of p*ss-taking of lard-arse Rock n' Roll and goth-clichées. (ups, sounds like the fate of Vision Thing, doesnt it? :innocent: ;D )

And no, there was never a second Lucyfire album in the pipeline, nor any further gigs. :|

EDIT: I just got informed that there's indeed some life in that rotten corpse called Lucyfire. :P clicky
