Music industry considers digital future

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

It's about f**king time.

That was very interesting reading. :notworthy:

And I must say I just love this quote :
Billy Bragg wrote:I don't want to be in a situation where I'm still playing when I'm 70 but you can't get my records, because either they're owned by a label that doesn't exist any more and no-one knows who owns the rights, or there is a label and they're just sitting on them.
:innocent:
I'd end this moment to be with you
Through morphic oceans I'd lay here with you

SHOCK NEWS
Music industry starts to wake up and smell the coffee.

I thought whole geological epochs would normally be required for this kind of thing.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Hahaha! No argument there. Granted, I use Myspace to spread the word about my own band, and am not worried about losing intellectual ownership right now, because I'm not in a situation where this applies - yet. I'll reconsider it when it comes to that. In the mean time, I use Myspace to my advantage. It would be dman great for all musicians to own all rights to their music. But the industry waking up and smelling the coffee doesn't mean they'll drink it any time soon, mark my words...
