Now, I am by no description a fan of the band Keane, but having heard this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fq6I02iFchs (no video) It made me wonder if there are other bands out there who's own music you dislike but really like a cover that they do. Such as this or this :

The Sister renditions of Emma, Knocking on Heavens Door Didn't Know I loved You till I saw You Rock 'n' Roll and Confide In Me, obviously. Day Tripper, Cinamon Girl, Posession (Sarah McLachlan not Sisters) Black Magic Woman, Oye Como Va and that other Santana one by Type O Neg really blaw ma kilt up too.

I don't see where I implied I disliked Siouxsie.

That said, after The Scream, there aren't many tracks I enjoy.
With the exception of the whole Boomerang album by The Creatures. That album is inspired.

Oh, another Beatles track springs to mind. Tell Me Why by The Beach Boys. Wish they'd made it longer, and a proper full-length recording, not the "Beach Boys Party" recording.

Red Crayola's "Parable of Arable Land" is a little goldmine for cover versions. The record itself is half totally discordant freeform noise, and half proper songs, but lurking in there you'll find two little gems you may know:

Transparent Radiation (covered by Spacemen 3)
Hurricane Fighter Plane (covered by Alien Sex Fiend)

Back to the first post; Keane -- is it true that their baby-faced singer went into rehab for an addiction to cheese and port?

Rock 'n' fückin' roll!

Surely that was a case of making matters worse. I thought they must having been trying to prove how rubbish the track actually was.
