don't know if it has been mentioned before..
just back from Gent (Belgium) where i bought a very nice looking bootleg from the gig at AB brussels this year... (store name is vinylla, a 2nd hand record store where i buy most of my sisters stuff, mainly official stuff, but from time to time he has great cd bootlegs aswell..so i was lucky today because they usually sell withing 24 hours)
have to listen to it yet, but i hope it's a new recording and not the one we know..
tracklist shows all tracks played as well as Intro, so i'm guessing it's something we didn't hear before..
i'll post some scans of the cover art tomorrow...
it just came in in the shop, he only had a few copies...
he said it was the first one he saw from this year's gigs...

...widely available from the weeding section, and assuming its the same recording, a damn fine boot of (apparently) a damn fine gig.

i am not the kind of kid that buys bootlegs or collects them (i download them! it's meta-illegal!), but is this another bootleg that sounds like
"whoo zzz hhhhh car hhhhhh zzzz boffff driven hahahaa z"
(impersonation of Crash & Burn)
Or are there any bootlegs in the "suzanna live" quality?
The Visions at the Forum recording, for example, is to me not really listenable.

i'm guessing it's a recording none of us heard before.. and untill now that even includes me.. but the cover art seems pro compared to other boots...

Have you never heard the maxim:
"Never judge a boot by its cover"?

as i know from "smoke and mirrors" there was only one silver bootleg, nomen omen, double digipack "smoke and mirrors" with frankfurt gig, so it looks interesting
waiting for scans

it's a recording i never heard before.. good quality
back cover has an error on tracklisting (slept is noted twice with 1 error on first
the backcover note says:
"doctor avalanche is back again - compiled in love by fans for fans"
ring a bell for anyone?
also: crash and burn has a small error on it for 2 seconds during the first chorus...
front pic is one of Von, close up in multycolour
inner sleeve is a b&w stage pic
rear is an orange pick of chris and von...
quality is very good, lower bass lvl and very good treble lvl so the guitar sounds better (especialy on ribbons and flood I

hmm... Is it actually a silver disc, Ghostrider?
Vinylla records do sell boot-recordings once in a while, both on tape as on cdr. Usually they come with black'n white coverart and look homemade. So, upon reading your first post I assumed it was one of those... Now prove me wrong!
It'd be great if you could post the scans.
Would be funny to see a 'new' boot cd popping up in the shops/record fairs

all the boots i bought at Vinylla are originals (wide receiver, 1996, ...)
this one is a black disc with red writings... it bears the old logo...
scans will follow as i had to reinstall the scanner :p

Really? I've always thought of that as the definitive (tho incomplete of course) Event Horizon boot..

Although it is almost 2007, I prefer to hear songs performed in ste-re-o and hear instruments separated (and not like a vacuum cleaner).
Could be that the versions i have aren't the official bootlegs. (But a bootleg of a bootleg).
Really? I've always thought of that as the definitive (tho incomplete of course) Event Horizon boot.. Confused

So, an unofficial, unofficial release then?
Does that double negative make it official?

Visions at the Forum isn't that bad. Are you sure you're not thinking of Victorian Night? The description fits that like a glove.

compiled in love by fans for fans
wtf - I thought we're compiling stuff like this in the weeding section?
But I would love to check this one out - maybe it's..... useful

I was stupid enough to buy
three copies of this at a record fair in Frankfurt at the weekend. Whilst I'll smile politely at the dodgy artwork on photo paper, I won't smile politely at more than one (maybe two errors) in the recording:
Crash & Burn - After 1.00 huge 2 sec skip which makes Von sound as if he's rapping.
Flood 1 - After 3.10 another skip
Dominion - After 4.40 another skip
Neverland - After 2.04 'Hello' and at the end 3.00 (Extended double skip version)
Lucretia - Skips at 0.30 und 1.55
Artwork: Bad - Slept (with all ter russia ..?)
And Andy's comments re feedback (and his ensuring comments re Alice, GG and IWW) are just spliced and cut. Badly.
8
noticeable glitchs (to my untrained ear) in a new recording?
24 bit remastered? Maybe, but did no-one bother to listen to the original source tape first? And all the fcuk-ups contained within there in?
I'm off to to the next record fair in three weeks to demand my money back. And I will get it.
IF this is the brainchild of a HLer, then I would suggest you stop now. Seriously.
But maybe I've just been unlucky, so maybe
Ghostrider can confirm or deny my comments re the sound. Please feel free to PM me to compare notes.
Save your money Candy Cane Children.

You forgot tracks 15 and 20.

IF it is, may I suggest that you should not have even started. Having the gall to attempt to make money (illegally) from something that's been freely shared in the past is a bit beyond any conceivable barometer of fair play.
The apparent sheer low quality of the thing only adds insult to injury.
"compiled in love by fans for fans" my ass. More like "compiled with dollar signs in the eyes and an uncaring mercenary attitude for those who it is hoped had been born just when that minute ticked over".
I seriously hope this did not originate with anybody here.
