Whos been? Whats it like? I am hoping to go for the first time in 2007. The Sisters have played 3 times since 2000, but never 2 years running, and not last year, what are the chances they'll play again?

Experiences and anicdotes anybody?

I have been there last year.
first impression; it had the best kind of atmosphere I have ever seen on a festival. Remember I’m (not afraid to call myself, like some others) a Goth ;D nice people, great location …

second impression, the second stage (inside a large building) is very hard to reach when there is a big band playing inside + most shows overlap one another so you’ll always have to give up/miss some parts of the concerts if you want to see it all.

I had a really good time, but if you go for just 2 bands you better hope they won’t play the same time.

Have to second Christophe on all accounts except the being a bloody Goff ;)

Atmosphere is very nice, a lot of weirdos to gape at, a really nice and cozy and above all HUGE market, and pish beer that does what i needs to do tho (get pished, destroy).

The Marquee hall is indeed a bugger to enter when a good band is playing, and when you see thunderclouds appearing and you want to see a band there within the next two hours, you better enter waaaay before they start! ;D (it has the same effect as a verwarmd buskotje ;D)

 Pish ain't a compliment!

I'm thinking I might go this year myself - regardless of whether the Sisters are playing or not. Or maybe Wave Gotik Treffen again - I was impressed by it last year, in spite of the silliness.

When is the lineup likely to be announced.

And if one happens to know that the girls havn't been booked yet, is there still time before the lineup announcement? Or is it all wrapped up by now?

Plenty of time...

They always announce ticket sales at a ridiculously early stage...

Four years ago, I bought my tix a week before the festival...

Pish is a understatement, we Belgians are used to something else you know

I haven’t been to Wave Gotik Treffen but as I understand it I don’t think its worth it.
- to many bands I don’t want to see
- to many venues so you’ll probably miss everything you want to see because you can’t find the way.
- it is rather far away.
- …

If I do a festival this year it will probably be Mera Luna. Now if they would hurray and post some band names.

I had been thinking of going in 2005 - the lineup then was announced (mostly, I'm sure there were late additions) by mid March.

2 conflicting answers... I'll take an average.

The big names are being negotiated right now. They are the first to be announced. (don't know when though.) the rest of the line up will be compiled thereafter.

Been twice, 2000 was a lot better than 2002 but probably cos it pissed down then. Generally OK but the line-up (with the odd noticeable exception) isn't all that

But, on a brighter note, the Caipirinhas are cheap and that makes all the difference!

I saw the lineup for 2002. Sissies, Soft Cell, London After Midinight, Assemblage 23, plus loads of other really really cool bands. I would have CACKED my pants.

Could be time to get back to the continent. This job actually pays, so a festival could be feasible...

Line-up this year?

Mera Luna is a good idea. I am thinking maybe a tour of the world going from fest to fest - southern & northern hemispheres. I had better start planning.

I need a lot of lead time to amass funds, organisation, booze, and ammunition. But let's do this thing.
