Have MORE ever been played live by The Sisters?
Any recordings available?
MORE live?
I saw them do it at Birmingham in 92.
There is a recording, but it isn't the greatest quality.

I had a little chat with Ben before the Luxembourg gig (Esch-Sur-Alzette) and he told me he would love to play More live but Von wasn't keen on playing it. Maybe Ben is able to convince him and we get it live somewhere in the future? I would love to hear a 2007 live version of it

I wanted to direct you to a nice source for this kind of info, but AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHH http://db.tsom.org/ is down!
I like these calm little moments before the storm. It reminds me of Beethoven. Can you hear it? It's like when you put your head to the grass and you can hear the growin' and you can hear the insects.

i suppose Eldritch doesn't think More works well without female background singers?
Maybe for the 2007 tour he should get some

aye, i thought the same thing...itnAklipse wrote:i suppose Eldritch doesn't think More works well without female background singers?
the sheer pompousness and scale of the studio version of more relies on the backing vox and string sections.
i dont think it has enough of an underlying song to work stripped down and guitared-up (certainly the few live versions i have heard sounded pretty ropey), unlike the live version of "this corrosion", which is actually a funky beast even without the chiors

The strings and choirs should not pose a problem, if only Andrew would hire the right people with the right equipment!Quiff Boy wrote:aye, i thought the same thing...itnAklipse wrote:i suppose Eldritch doesn't think More works well without female background singers?

We'd just get people whining about "the concert's all pre-recorded"...Izzy HaveMercy wrote:The strings and choirs should not pose a problem, if only Andrew would hire the right people with the right equipment!

I've got my only live version of it on that Dark Christmas in London boot from 93. Sounds very ropey to me too. I guess you have to have the female backing but I'd like to hear it without.
The backing singer on that boot makes me cringe when she's doing Come Together

It was a top gig and indeed it did go mad when the strings started.... I have a boot of it on good old fashioned cassette.bookish wrote:The recording from the Birmingham NEC gig is pretty good actually.
It was a superb gig that one, and when the strings start up the place went bananas.
Wouldnt even know where to start to try and get it uploaded onto my computer though

The first time it was played live in the UK was NEC 27.06.92 : there was a massive roar when it started. Last time was the final overbombing date (I think) - 22.12.93 in Birmingham.
Wish it would come back, it's a cracker. Then again, the 02-03 shows where they finally brought back Dr Jeep, When You Don't See Me, I Was Wrong, Lucretia et al. after some fairly vocal comments on Dominion and elsewhere indicates that Eldo does listen.
