I'm blissfully overlooking what he has done in the past 30 years because his first 30 years have been so overwhelmingly impressive.

He's 60 !

Hear hear! And many more 'n all that . Seriously, Bowie's influence is felt across the entire popular music and culture spectrum. Impressive indeed!

As for his recent looks, I saw him as a nice elderly gentlemen but as well looking like a granny trying to look like the kids.

Dylan influenced a great deal of musicians/artists but he never really IMO, went as far as Bowie in creating genres and styles or 'pushing the envelope'. If you see what I mean Eric.
