For All Belgians of the Dark and Brooding 80's Persuasion!

Perhaps you already know this, but I'd like to post it anyway : on Saturday February 3rd, there will be another New Wave Party in the Stadsfeestzaal in Aarschot. For thos unfamiliar with this kind of party : it's in a rather large hall (500+) and the music is that found on the New Wave Club Class- X CD's, as posted by Patrick (More Sedatives pls) here a few days ago, plus all the other big hits from big 80's bands. Lots of Sisters too. The parties seemed to have lost their vigor a few years ago, but made a big comeback in the past two years. It's all 80's New Wave/Cold Wave/Goth/EBM (for lack of better labels :P), all night long. I'm there every year, so hopefully see you there too! And of course, not just us bloody Belgians are welcome, duh! ;)

I always look forward to this event, the only thing I find annoying is that they have the tendency to play only the first two minutes of a song, then mix it into another song for two minutes. Also, when you are there for a couple of hours on end, it might well be you heard Temple Of Love three times (the first two minutes of it, anyway ;))

But I'm happy there is such a thing as the Aarschot New Wave Parties, they are just GREAT for the Oldies among us.

Way better than all these Vampire parties where good old stuff is almost drowned in commercial frituurpop and pounding techno-like Hellectro...

Will Gunther of AR attend too? He used to frequent these do's a lot, since it is near his home-town Diest, if I recall correctly.

Well, that's what they avoid now. I, too, got more than slightly annoyed at hearing 'Vision Thing' three times in a mere two hours. They're more diverse these days and let the songs play longer. Hence the reason why I like going there again.

Yeah, innit? We make it a group gathering; all of the friends get together and go there to have a good time. Hope you can make it, IZ!

I take it you're not taking a liking to the Bunkerleute Parties in Leuven then ... :P

Given the reasons for my departure from AR last week and the way he sees that, I don't think Gunther and I are on speaking terms these days. He might just show his face there or he might now; I've no idea...

I heard about this but I have never been there before. I’d love to come take a look, but I have to be somewhere else early that evening.
I’ll hear around to find out is anyone else will be going.
(500+ people  you got alot of space to dance I imagine)

Oh, I can understand you talk bad about the Vampire Party but Bunkerleute is just plain Fun :D
