I almost missed this one. He's already done London, Nottingham and Blackpool but will be playing Glasgow Barfly with Ginger tomorrow, although according to his own site it's tomight (under 2006 dates!). Anyway, as Barfly's site and Tickets Scotland has him listed on 22nd, I'll be going along tomorrow to see if he's there. Anyone else up for a night out?

Aye, I mentioned this here a while back :innocent:

Anyways, I popped along on Friday to see Ginger & Co and Robochrist was manning the merchandise stall.

I asked him how Moscow was and he said “f**king Brilliant” and that when they arrived at the venue it was still being painted. When the crew arrived the previous day there was still scaffolding up.

Moscow was probably his most enjoyable gig, although he also thought São Paulo, Rock City and Leeds were excellent. Particularly Leeds as it’s his home town and his Mum and Dad were there (ah bless).

I told him I was reviewing the Ginger gig for www.livemusicreview.co.uk and he got his phone out to make a note of the URL, swore at it a couple of times, told me it was crap and showed me that the joystick button had fallen off.

He sold a couple of Howling Willie c**t CDs to punters, and then said that he only remembers the São Paulo press conference because he was carrying a particularly bad hangover at the time.

I asked him whether they were writing any new material and he said that he was always writing stuff but whether it gets recorded is a different matter. He mentioned that there were two new songs, one of which got played for the first time at Rock City (Still) and the other he didn’t think they’d played at a gig yet.

He signed my Rock City Sisters ticket, “with pleasure” and sold me his RoboChrist CD for £2.00 (bargain).

I asked him about any future dates and he said that he’d heard nothing officially, but he hoped so. Someone had mentioned a Belgium date to him the previous night, but he didn’t know about it. He said that I should have been at the previous night’s gig (London) as Ben was there as well.

He also told me where he bought his white suit, but I’m afraid that far too many beers erased that memory as the evening passed.

I shook his hand and left him to flog some more CDs.

Nice chap.
