So I'll be in Leeds in March

and um, have really nothing to do. I'm sure not many of you know me, but I'm nice enough. Anyone up to showing me around? Please PM--or post, but I don't want to clutter the board up too much. I'll be relatively broke, though.
Oh, the dates are (somewhat tentatively) march 14th through the 29th.
Update: have procured a passport and plane tickets. I'll be arriving at about 6:30 in the morning on March 14th, at Manchester Airport. So I might be around there all day, or I might just go onto Leeds after a short time. I have a friend with whom I'll be staying; the days he has to work (which means I've got nothing to do) are march 15,16, 19, 20, 21, 22. I'm sure he'd be up for meeting someone for drinks, but if there's any particular interesting things to do on the days he's at work, be sure I would appreciate being told of them. I'm leaving March 26th at about 11:30 in the morning.

The 17th is Paddy's day, but more importantly my wee boys buffday-other than that I'm sure we could meet up-there's a dreadfully cheap pub where I live. I'm sure some of the other Heartland Leeds Contingent will also say hello, pity you're not here 17/02/07!

All the way from Georgia to Leeds for a meet up with Heartlanders?
You should turn it into a road movie.

I'm dead sure we can sort a night out, when you have more specific dates. Indeed it would be rude and remiss of us not to.

O.k., I'll bring back the thread shortly before I depart, with dates and more certainties. Anyone feel free to pm, also, if there's any advice you'd give me about travelling to England; i've never been out of my own country.

We call French fries chips, & we call chips crisps. That's all you need to know about the UK.
Like the others I'm always up for a beer in the wonderful world of Leeds too.

We also drive on the left, and write our dates the other way round (don't get confused by this).
Colour, honour, armour ... here we use the letter "u" with impunity. (America, I understand, stockpiles every surplus letter "u" for some yet-to-be-determined but no doubt nefarious purpose.)
And accepted wisdom dictates that we
get irony, you don't. Go figure.

Cool, I'm sure someone cleverer than me can work out / research which one of those dates is a friday or saturday, and we'll take it from there.
As for where else to go, there's an Official Tour Of Sisters Sites somewhere on here I think, courtesy of the lovely
Francis. May be worth looking into.

Missus is out so I'm babysitting at the mo. I'll see if I can get some other poor sod to do it though, and get right back to you.
