Andrew Eldritch and Danielle Dax - A Quiry

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Guys and Gals :D ,

I heard - way back when - about 1987/88 - that Von was involved - some time in 86/87 with Miss Danielle Dax (dodgy "G***" singer artist :?: )

I also remember "Mexico" being mentioned - can anyone on this marvelous forum cast any light on this "rumour"! :urff:

Thanks in Advance :notworthy:

Thats Great - Thanks very much - I now remember reading about that gig at the time. I guess that Von and Dax may have even be "Friends" - or so it would seem ;-)

Ms. Dax opened the first TSOM show I ever attended - Boston, March '91. I can't remember a single song she sang, what she looked like, or anything else about her performance. Oh, well... :von:

Sinny - thats a real shame to hear - I have been collecting "Dax" since 87 - its a shame she has not recorded since 95 - shes now a award winning "Garden Desinger" on British TV! - which is nice !

I dug a little further from the link that "Dom" :notworthy: posted and found the following :-

"Danielle Dax: The Timber Tongue EP from 1995 was the last title to be released under Danielle's own name. Despite rumors of recorded material waiting to be released, Dax has reportedly been working as a garden designer. Despite the lack of material released under her own name, Dax has appeared on a track from Arkkon's self-titled first album"

Point your browsers - http://notsorted.tripod.com/DD.news.html

I also found this - "Last seen (Jan'97) on a BBC-2 home - improvement programme (Amateur Decorator of the Year 1997!) showing how she decorated her home with baco-foil and with a new Record Label: Danielle is back."

From - http://members.aol.com/darqdean/ofdax.htm

I guess the BBc has yet to catch up with Ms. Dax's "home improvement presenter" potential

I saw Danielle Dax a couple of times when she played with Salvation & a couple more times too . I thought she was excellent . With her strange voice and wierd instruments she was something different .
I still have a really good video of a gig she did in London (I think) .
I have heard from a few people that she (as well as Kim Wilde ) is indeed a garden designer .

MMmmmmm, Mizz Dax. Ya....read about that successful interior designing stint a few years back along with the unfortunate fact that she allegedly retired from music entirely after releasing the very uncompromising Timber Tongue EP(sounds more like the work she'd done with the Lemon Kittens back in the early 80's). Although recently I've heard a few rumours that she's been renting out studio time and working again. [shrugs].

j0hn.......
