Benn Gunn and Anabas

Sorry if this topic has been discussed before but...
Did Benn Gunn quit The Sisters or was he fired? Reading through the posts on the forum, some indicate he quit whilst others seem to say he was fired. I seem to remember reading somewhere that Andrew only ever fired one band member, but it was never disclosed who it was.
After leaving The Sisters, Benn formed Anabas. Did they ever release any music? If so, has anybody heard it?

I believe the "one person" may have been la Morrison, who apparently (and allegedly) was not capable of adapting to the changes that were happening in the band, "like actually playing".

i seem to remember mr marx telling me that ben left of his accord when he got fed up with the sisters (& mainly eldritch i guess) adopting too many cliched "rawk star" ideals (the drugs, the posturing, etc)
apparently ben was a bit of an indie kid in his approach to music and fame - very low key, very understated
i gather didnt feel entirely comfortable with some of the dumb-ass led zep style excesses that the band were dabbling with...
he'd have loved what happened after hussey joined then

Plus they then signed with a major, so I doubt he'd have wanted to stay around.
Pity, he was a good guitarist.

I have Barricades/Dreamdance on 7" single which I picked up in a second had shop in Leeds in about 1996. It's nothing to write home about. I also lack the knowledge to transfer it onto MP3 to share, so you'll have to trust me on this one.

I was at a party once in the Brudenell's in LS6 when Ben played me a tape of Floorshow before it was released. "I know that you'll hear that this rips off 'Immigrant Song' by Led Zep" he told me. And, yeah, he was correct. LOL

My ass, she could hold her own on bass just listen to the Gun Club or the Damned. You dont exactly have to be Steve Harris or Dave Ellefson to play on Floodland or the Sisters of Mercy for that matter.

Agreed. She's a darn site better bass player than "Judas".
