Sky Vs Virgin

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I actually think Virgin are great to stand up to Sky.

The Sky channels in question are losing viewers (up to a third of them in Sky One's case) and yet Sky demand double to charge for Virgin to keep them, hoping that they'll feel obliged to pay up ?

Shurely Shume Mishtake !

It's about time somebody stood up to Sky's bully-boy tactics...........

..and I read somewhere that sky stand to lose £20m if a deal with virgin is not reached, as the revenue lost from virgin/ntl customers.
Seems an expensive way to make a stand......

Maybe if Sky charged Virgin a reasonable cost based on the worth of the channels at this time then none of them would have to go through this.

I wonder if they'll realise this.....

Good on Virgin I say. It's about time someone with a little financial muscle as well as business ethics* actually stood up to that cnut Murdoch.

* Yes, I know that Branson isn't 100% squeaky clean, but he's a damn sight better than most business people of whom I'm aware.

nicky campbell asked a sky top bod which he though the public trusted more - branson or murdoch. strangely, no answer. i chortled though.

I heard that on radio 5 this morning as well, he did very well to avoid answering that question even though he probably wanted to say Branson!

Well here on Moyseside we too no longer have Sky One/ New or Sports News, they have been replaced by Old Sky One Snooze and Old Sky Snooze :) which I think is hilarious..

Good one to Beard Face for standing up to those Global Nazis for holding everyone to ransom over some t.v shows such as Lost and 24. And as was said earlier, if you want to really watch these shows, you would download them from the USA - months before they hit our shores!! So Gawd bless Richard Branson and Gawd Bless Bill Gates for between them monopolising the world for the greater good ...kind of.
