Inland Empire (David Lynch)

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Saw this over the weekend thought it was really good, more over the top fractured cut-up madness from the wizard of weird.
If you liked Mulholland Drive or Lost Highway then this is more of the same in eye popping hi-definition video too.

Lynchfanatic you out there?

Its almost three hours long so be prepared....

Must of had a knock on the head today starting three threads

300 looks amazing...

But I'm of the opinion that Emperor Lynch has no clothes.
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

Strange, there isn’t a cinema in Zoersel City that is playing it either.

Sorry but the Emperor is fully clothed and Im gonna try to help you see why...

he plays with cinematic convention, expects you to do some work and generally serves up a twisted violent hallucinatory vision which although much like life is full of red herrings dead ends and mystery is nevertheless always compelling viewing.
Few have succeeded in doing this within an ever less imaginative Hollywood system without compromise.Even fewer directors have managed to show suburban America its twisted subconscious and actually have them lap it up.Lynch makes intelligent driven movies and just because he has dispensed with conventional storytelling does not mean the Symbolism and metaphor is empty.Much like a visual version of our old friend :von: .
