To listen or not to listen...

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I have secretly kept a few Sisters songs hidden from myself (well, in an unused map) to keep a few to surprise myself with when I know all others thoroughly. Now I've been wondering; is this any good, and if I should keep them hidden, how long should I wait before starting to listen to them? Thanks in advance.

You could get hit by a bus tomorrow. You don't want your last thoughts to be "oh feck, I never got to listen to those songs", do you? ;D

Go for it!
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I kept Bury Me Deep totally unlistened-to until I bought the single, and made it the last officially released track I'd ever not heard in any version.

It was worth it.

I remember when I first heard TSOM, they sounded really strange to me and there seemed to be what I can only describe as a vast space within all of their songs. That disappeared with subsequent listens, although I wish it hadn't. :|

Oh, I'm not saying it wasn't. It's one of the few TSOM tracks I really enjoy listening to, so I'm glad I kept it until last.

To ration the Sisters makes even less sense than keeping a bar of chocolate in the fridge and only eating one square per day. You know you want to...

The Sisters get white and chalky when cold? ;D

Dole out new stuff when you sufficiently appreciate the current batch, lest the individual characteristics become diluted. Or just get recordings and never listen to them; that happens often in some sections areounf here.

OMG! I did exactly that for several years! I had the vinyl for about 5 years before I listened to it. I thought it made me a bit weird, now I feel better!

Well, emma says:
The answer, as always, lies within the question.
If you ask the question, the answer is already there.
And you know that the answer in this case is YES.

too bad YES does not specify whether you mean I should or should not listen to them, and if I should keep them hidden as I interprete your YES, it does not say for how long :urff:

I could never find a reason for myself not to listen.

Sounds like SM.

My aim was just to make you realise that there's one huge YES screaming out of your question.
Which songs are they, exactly?
